I am wondering if someone can give me some advice. There is a new brand of cat food on the market that I have been asked to test for my cat to eat. I have ten tins to use and he has to stay on the product until they are finished. I gave Jasper some in his food bowl and he had a whiff and looked at me as if I'de lost the plot and went away from the cat food without taking a bite he was last seen heading for the outdoors. At this stage I think he will be losing weight.

They give you only ten tins and expect what kind of results?? A change in fur or skin conditions? hehe that's not going to take place after ten tins, maybe a few months.

And if he won't eat it then there's your conclusion -- he refused to eat it! You can't MAKE your cat eat a food. Unless its his only option, he WILL eat it when he gets hungry enough, but that isn't giving the food company a very good rep is it lol the cat will only eat the food when starved haha

Also, one should NEVER just change the cat's diet over to a new food without gradually introducing the new food!! The new food is mixed in GRADUALLY with the old food, until the new food is 100%. This takes at least ONE week to do it correctly!!! If the cat is older, you can cause hepatic lipidosis(fatty liver), then you have a critically ill cat that could die if there is no medical intervention!!! Sandra
