The bed poll got me wondering...Are your dogs allowed on the furniture (couch, chairs...)
All of my dogs are allowed on the furniture, it never used to be that way, when we only had Shadow she was never allowed but once we got Micki and Mini they always seemed to be on the furniture and so Shadow started. It is so embarassing when we have company because if they go to sit down they will usually have 4 dogs on top of them  Its not the best thing, company is also very surprised when they eat dinner with us, if there is an extra chair at the table Mini sits at it.

Yep, they are all allowed on the furniture, it's their house too. The best part of the day is when I'm relazing on the couch with my dogs.

Nope, I live with my parents so I have to follow their rules and they don't want dogs on the furniture at all.
If it were my house I would let them, but still only with permission or only on a certain couch because I wouldn't want them coming in from outside with muddy feet and jumping right up on a nice couch!

They are allowed up, and uninvited if we aren't on it. If we're sitting watching TV or whatever, they can only come up invited. Otherwise its fair game! Charlie likes laying on pillows and watching TV during the day while his dad's at work hehe
its the dogs furniture too lol , we dont have a muddy feet problem, the dogs are not allowed past the fisrt 2 feet inside the door with wet or muddy feet, if they are just wet or slightly muddy we just wipe em off with a towel we keep near the door, if they are very muddy we pick em up and carry them to the tub. I have always found it very suprising when I go to a friends house and they dont care that the dogs caked in mud and they just let then run in the house, thats weird to me lol

I swore when my RB Corey died, no more dogs on the furniture. Yeah, right. Lacey lays on the couch, Mandy has the chair, but only uses it in the winter. ;)

Payson is not allowed on any furniture or beds because it makes him aggressive towards the cats. If it weren't for that problem then he could be allowed up.

Of course! Daphne will jump off though if a person gets on the couch or bed. Cocoa is the opposite - she will jump on if a person is on the couch or bed.

Ours are allowed only on certain furniture. The couch and chairs in the den are mostly used by my stepdad and he doesn't like the dogs on them.

Well, Visa IS a lapdog. ;) She is allowed on the furniture, but only invites herself on my bed. She always asks for permission to be let on the couch or recliner.

My current large dogs are not allowed on the furniture.
My past little dogs were.
So for me...
Large: NO
Little: YES

I try to stay away from it because it can cause dominance problems and lord knows Mandy has that. But my mom and dad always let the dogs on their bed, but that's the only furniture they're allowed on.

My parents only let Niņo on the furniture in my room, but he has my bed and a chair in there.
Yes the dogs are and the cats are too. Sometimes it is challenging to find a place for me to sit down! :p

Mini has actually been recently banned from sitting at the table during dinner, she was always so good and would just watch, NEVER touching anything, recently my brother Adam got up from the table to answer the phone and she ate his whole taco  Mini now remains on the floor during dinner time!!

Is that Micky? cute :D I know some people do not mind having their dogs asking for food when they are having dinner and that is fine - I have done that in the past with my previous dogs. But with Snowy, I teach her not to beg for food when we are having dinner and so far she has been really good :)

Tikeya isnt allowed on the furniture because she is quite the hairy one.. she has several dog beds on the floor to choose from..
Oscar is a shih tzu (non shedding) he doesnt come ont he couch often, just because he doesnt want to.. he rather sleep in his cubby bed ;).

Sally, according to my dad is not allowed on the furniture unless asked. But she is on the couch and chairs ALL the time. She even has her chairs.:D
I always let my dog zero up on the bed, or the couch. I love snuggling with him, but he usually never comes up to the bed unless I literally pick all 75 pounds of him up and place him on the bed with me :D :D

Yep. Grant doesn't get in our bed, but Sadie and Maggie do. Grant sleeps on the couch at night. He likes to sleep on the twin bed in the computer room if I am in here. Sadie and Maggie sleep wherever and get on any bed/couch they want to. Grant used to not be allowed on the couch, but that only lasted about a week. :D

The dog has his own chair that he knows is the one he has to use when people are over. When there are no guests, it is a free-for-all except for the beds. He has to wait to be invited up there. If you take too long getting ready for bed, he'll follow you around griping. He waits for me to warm it up, and then tunnels under the covers.

Some furniture...some not. My bed, the couch in the TV room and one arm chair. that's it. They know they cannot go on any furniture in the living room, my dads bed or other chairs. I don't remember training them not to go up on these things..they just never did. Which is good..cause dog + expensive leather couch = no no. (and no, I didn't buy it. It's not even mine)

Mine are allowed on either couch in the family room but not the ones in the living room (When my parents aren't home, I sometimes let Tango up though...lol). They're all allowed on certain beds, I usually only allow Tango on mine unless my sheets need washing, then Winston can come up (He sheds so much!). I only allow my dogs up on furniture when I invite them though, the rest of my family allows them to get up whenever.

Both of my dogs are allowed on any furniture... My dad loves it when the dogs go to bed with him at night. :D Ethan used to prefer his dog bed over the furniture, but since he doesn't have a dog bed, he's joined us on the couch.

Yes, in my home. Not allowed on the new couch at my parents, but can get on the bed and older furniture. Not allowed on any furniture at Andy's parents.

for crayola, forbidden by authority - service dog rule. :(
but I rare let him come up on if the floor is really cold at other's houses... as long as it's not screwing up his trainings. shh shh ;)
