A few months back I wrote about my foster Raven, who, in spite of being spayed, kept going into heat. She had been adopted, but the family was able to get her operated on again on the rescue's dime. It turns out the initial spaying apparently didn't remove the ovaries!!! WTH? I'm going to get a letter from Vet A, who redid the spay, and send it to Vet B, who botched the initial spay. That is so unlike Vet B, who we've been using for years.
Anyway, Raven is just fine now, and is playing with the Weimeraner and making friends with the old man Himalayan kitty.

WHOA!!! That is really the pits about the vet leaving the ovaries in!!!! It is good to know that despite the botched initial surgery, Raven is enjoying the good life!!! Sandra

You said you've been going to this vet for years? I heard of a case like that here and the vet was getting on in years, opened the cat up and didn't remove anything, hence pregnancy. Sad but true. Is it time, perhaps, for your vet to retire? Just a question.

How bizarre! I can't wait to hear that explanation. Glad to hear that Raven is OK now though.

That's a very good reason to go into heat again  I simply can't understand it.

I found out that sometimes vets are in a hurry and "miss a spot." The vet only charged us for a discounted spay. The kitty is doing fine
