Allowed to sleep on your bed?

Cagney sleeps right on the pillow every night :p

Allowed, but I sleep on a Twin Sized bed, so Kia won't sleep on the bed if I'm in bed. The cats join me however.

LOUD Louie and The Beans want to know just why we have to label things YOURS as in " YOUR bed".... Everyone knows that when you have Fur-kids, there usually is no such thing as YOURS anymore...:D ;)

My answer is sometimes so I didn't vote, I didn't know which one that would be closer to.

Most trainers say this is the worst thing you can allow your dog to do, sleep on YOUR bed with you. Actually they say to not even let your dog on your bed at all. It *can* cause a lot of confusion & behavioral problems.

But I am guilty.
I used to let Nanook sleep with me until his health starting deteriorating. I don't want to chance him injuring himself jumping off the bed while I'm sleeping and he can't jump up on it by himself anyways anymore.

Raustyk sleeps with me. I don't command her to since I learned that but I also can't tell her no when she wants to get up there with me. since I stopped calling her on the bed with me every night she doesn't sleep with me every night. Even when she does she may not sleep all night long with me either.

Kaige is still in his crate at night. (hoping to get a baby gate soon & start to allow him access to my room at least) So far when he does jump up on my bed I've been making him get right off. I don't know if I'll allow him up there or not when he is allowed free roam of the house at night. I LOVE to sleep with them but I think since I am hoping to compete in obedience with him that even if I do decide to allow him to sleep with me I'll at least wait a year or so until I do let him sleep with me.

Edited to add that my cats sleep with me. Meko always does, Tiki does most of the time.

How much *space* can YOU take up? http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif

We *pack* one Hoomin, TWO Dawgs, and the occasional Kat on a Twin bed!

Now, it IS kinda "chummy" - and we've ALL fallen out/off once or twice ...

We start out evenly distributed -
* I get about 2/3 of the top end, feets tucked in a bottom corner;
* Smoke "spoons" beside me, stretched out, under the covers
* Cinder "sprawls" across the bottom, using my legs for her pillow.

Come morning ... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif
* I'm in a fetal position, knees hanging in space, feet smashed between the Dawgs
* Smokey has turned 90^, semi-curled, using over half the width of the bed
* Cinder consumes the entire width of the bed, and about 1/3 of the length
* Smokey often Stands UP to <stretch> - effectively pulling the covers off me!

BOWSER??
He just *looks up*, shakes his head, and *flops* on the rug beside the BigBed.

KAT?
He waits till all are settled in; then jumps up and
manages to step on everyone http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/mad.gif as he makes his way to the bookcase headboard.

Yes but they are only allowed on the bed after we give them permission to do so. Even then Jamie tries crawling up above us and ontop all the pillows and I've heard this is a dominance thing... every time she does this we tell her DOWN and don't let her come back up without our permission and only let her sleep by our feet.

The only one that will spend all night is Casey, and we don't allow her to do so because she is incontinent, and will just let loose while sleeping. If they do get to come up, it is invited only. :)

Tango and WInston are allowed on my bed but only if I invite them up. Tia's allowed on all the furniture so that includes my bed aswell and I don't let Keeva up at all. Maybe when she's older, but not now.

Only Oz sleeps on the bed with me. Murph use to, but he kept jumping off and I'm so afraid of him hurting his knee again, that he now has his own bed on the floor.

Gull could sleep with me and Oz if he wanted, but he'll only put his front paws on the bed. Can't have those back feeties leaving the floor. Too scary I guess. He spends a lot of time on the bed with just his front paws. He'll bring something to chew on and munch away while I try to peer over him to see the TV. For actual sleeping, he has a bed on the floor next to mine too.

Oz usually starts off with his nose across my feet or on my shoulder. Til I start moving around, then he just lays near me. I just can't sleep in one position and he can't sleep with all the movement.

Shadow sleeps on the couch, once in a great while she manages to curl up with my sister in her twin bed.

Micki used to sleep with me until my foster kittens invaded my room, he doesn't like them too much so he sleeps with my brother Adam.

Mini sleeps with my sister or parents.

Jack sleeps at the end of my bed but usually ends up sleeping on the floor.

Kyra is crated at night, she has recently taken 3 steps backward and was getting to the point she would wake up in the middle of the night and potty somewhere, so she sleeps in Jack's crate, so far so good.

They are all allowed on every bed but most of the time they wait to be invited.

Unfortunately, my parents won't let Blaze sleep with me, let alone he moves so much in his sleep, I CAN'T sleep, lol! I've slept with him before, but he moved and shifted every time I shifted just the slightest bit and woke me up. He's a good boy in his own bed though!;)

I forgot about the cats...Jasper sleeps in his rocking chair in the living room, he rarely sleeps in a bed with someone. My foster kittens sleep cuddled next to Jack on the end of the bed or really close to my face. They like to walk on my alarm clock at weird hours of the night though and wake me up

Nebo is allowed to sleep on my bed. He likes to lay on there and sleep when I'm not on it, once I get on it (it's a twin size) he usually gets off. When he does stick around for a while, it's always at the foot of the bed...he will never lay anywhere else (unless I'm off it, then he hogs the whole thing). Occasionally he'll spend the whole night at the foot of the bed, usually only when it's really cold!

My parent's don't want me to have Reggie or Sydney on the bed.... I don't really want Reggie on my bed either because he's older and has bladder problems. Sydney is a great snuggle buddy though, she'll just curl up next to me. I always let her sleep on my bed when my parents are gone. :o The reason they don't want her up there though is because they don't want dogs on the couches/other beds and when Syd is allowed on my bed she thinks she's allowed on everything and will start jumping up on the couch. Nebo never tries to jump on the couch or any other bed unless given permission.

None of the dogs will jump onto the bed as it's too high for them. Bitsy sometimes sleeps in bed with us and sometimes not, but we have to put her up there. As for the cats we always had Roxy in bed with us before she passed away, after that we slept in a kitty free bed for a few months :(. Now Oliver sleeps with us at night :). During the day is a different story, the cats love to nap on the bed.

I voted "yes", but in fact that is not the correct answer. During the night, all 3 cats sleep in their "cat-room". During the day however, they often wander to our bed, and take a nice long nap on it ;) . Inka also always joins me in bed every morning (my hubby brings her) :)

They're allowed sometimes, but most often they're in their crates.

My dogs and cats are allowed on the bed. There's no set pattern to who sleeps where or who stays all night, they come and go. I'm just thankful there's a little room left for the humans! :D

Absolutely, Ash does not want to sleep on the bed, but lexie is there every single night without fail, I always retire before my hubby and I say are you coming to bed with mama, she always responds with a little meow and up the stairs she runs with me to bed time, sometimes if I go later, I can tell she is hanging around waiting and wondering why we are not off to bed, I would not have it any other way, I just love her being with me, she never sleeps close though , she prefers to be a lovely foot warmer, and I have a two special warm polar fleece blankets over the duvet cover so she is warm and cozy.

Visa is allowed on my bed. She sleeps with me for the first part of the night and then usually moves to the floor after a couple hours. My roomates' dogs are allowed on my bed too. They stay there the whole night and cuddle. None of the cats are allowed though. Caleb pees on my bed so he's not allowed in my room, and my roomate's cats aren't allowed in my room either because they hide under my bed and then wake me up early in the morning.

I voted No.

Roxey or Huney have never wanted to.
Bon did when he was a pup but as soon as he was big enoug (or should I say as soon as there was no more room in our bed  ) he started sleeping on the floor.

It's more like they allow me and Dustin to sleep in their bed. :D We start the night with me in the middle, Dustin on one side Bull on the other Isis on top of us. We all have equal shares of the queen size bed. Sometime during the night Bull ends up with almost half the bed and of course Dustin is going to move an inch so I'm wedged between them with Isis curled up where my feet should be  so I'm wedged and curled (don't ask me I don't know how I pull it off either) .

I've started just laying on top of Dustin most nights because I can't disturb the furry ones. Him, I can aggravate. :D

I have a mini dachshund she jumps up on the bed which frightens me beacuse of her back but I'm going to get a ramp.
She loves to sleep at the end of the bed then about midnight she sneaks under the duvet covers and lays full length along my back! I'm sure when I move out she will save me £££'s on my night-time heating bills! :D :p
