Shiloh has joined Killian at the bridge

Sue helped her beloved Shiloh cross to the bridge on Monday to once again be with her brother Killian.

I can only imagine the billion pieces your heart must be shattered into right now Sue. I only wish I could be there to hug you in person and share your tears. :( I had the thread in DG about Shiloh bookmarked and checked it every day several times, hoping against hope that the conclusion could be happier. I feel so heartbroken and I grieve with you.

Shiloh, I know you are bounding to meet your beloved brother Killian. Both of you will watch over your adored Mommy, waiting patiently for the day of joyous reunion. You will be missed, oh so missed :(. But you are here in all our hearts, you live on in everyone who knew and loved you both near and far, and especially in Sue's heart who will never, ever forget you, not one single day will go by that she forgets.

Dear Lord, please open your gates
and call St. Francis
to come escort this beloved companion
across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign her to a place of honor,
for she has been a faithful servant
and has always done her best to please me.

Today I have the sad mission of reporting that Sue's Shiloh has passed to the Rainbow Bridge. All efforts to ease her suffering were in vain and this Monday Sue had to do what we have dreaded and that is to help her pass to the Rainbow Bridge where there would be no more pain or suffering and she would once again see her beloved brother, Killian.

Sue's computer has crashed and she has not been able to come here to receive the comfort and support of all who have posted. She indicated that she will try when she can to access Pet Talk from the library.

As expected, Sue is devastated and in tears. Her hope for a few months more with Shiloh was not to be. The pain is fresh and her heart is broken in a million pieces. Please keep our dear friend in your prayers so she can make it through these dark days.

Those of us who have known the strong and beautiful Shiloh for these past years will each mourn her passing. She was a heart dog in every sense of the word.

Good-bye Shiloh. You were *one of our own*.

"A Living Love (Three Days)
If you ever love an animal, there are three days in your life you will always remember . . .

Sue, I know the pain is still fresh and the wound you have in your heart seems as if it will never heal. Each day is different, you handle the loss in a new way, sometimes better, sometimes not. Both my RB dogs were situations where their departure was a long and drawn out process, as I know your Killian's was too. I've often thought that if I had to lose another, wouldn't it be better to have it over quickly. After our conversation about Shiloh, I've come to realize that is not the case.
