Grr, I'm really upset!

A about 2 weeks ago, my aunt brought over a bird with a broken leg, aside from that she had a very long beak and needed her nails done. The vet put a cast on her and said she won't really be able to perch again on that leg, she should do fine though. She scoots around and doesn't seem the have a broken heart from it either. She was a real sweetheart, well the lady came the other day to pick her up and told us she had 17 birds and has never heard of birds needing to chew on things to make their beaks short!! Grrr she makes me so mad, poor Maggie is going to have to live with this woman!! I don't want her to, so I asked my aunt to talk to this woman about give this bird to me. I really hope she does, I'll care for her and make sure she's cared properly at that especially since she's a handycap bird. She will have 3 more weeks until her cast is taken off. Hopefully I can get her back. Please just pray that I can get this bird. Oh and she's a cockatiel named Maggie.

It's really sad that someone who owns so many animals doesn't even know the BASIC basics of caring for them! Maybe someone just needs to educate her a little bit about them, perhaps buy a "bird care for dummies" book or something of the sorts and give to her?? :)

Well my mom was talking to her and from my mom said she really didn't seem interested in learning about bird care. She breeds her birds and has been for awhile, she even told my mom she's looking for an African Grey. I'm probably going to go to her house with my aunt to see the birds. It's probably just going to upset me though.

Wow she is BREEDING them and doesn't even give them, know about, or CARE about giving the birds just basic care??? I don't know if its possible but maybe I would think about contacting an organization like the ASPCA or some equivellant in your area to check it out or talk to her about her habits. :( :( :( those poor birds!! :( :( :(

That's how I feel! Animal Control doesn't deal with these things but my mom is friends with the Director of our humane society, and maybe she can get her to go to her house and talk to her.
