Why are cats obsessed with this?
My cat loves nothing more than to climb onto the bar, which is situated just over the couch, and knock things down just to see them fall. It's all fine and dandy, until you set your drink on the bar, and it gets knocked onto your head.
Do all cat's do this?

oh no! I can just picture a cat doing that! They are so silly sometimes...
Our cats don't knock drinks over, they drink out of them, so we are always making sure they are out of reach.
Our neighbor's cat likes to knock things on the bathroom counter, he is so funny to watch (it's funny to me, but not my neighbor who has to clean up after him), he just pushes everything off the edge... :D

Livvy -- No (uh, almost never)
Cassy -- Rather frequently. No-nos sometimes deter him, squirt bottles frequently deter him. Time-outs in other rooms work if you can get him into the other room... It would be cute if it weren't quite so aggravating.

Oh, yeah. Everybody at our house LUVS this game, but especially Pip. He especially likes smaller objects he can scoop into a paw and toss, rather than just watch things roll off.

The Beans don't knock over drinks, but they love to knock things off the counter tops, only to look at you with that defiant, "Oh! Excuse ME. DID I doo that?!?" look.

My new kitties - all of 12 weeks old- have already discovered this. Yesterday Bodhi started climbing up the C.D. rack and knocked the jazz section out ( about 20+ C.D.'s) all over the floor. He has my taste in music. My husband did not see this and won't notice till he finds they are not in alphabetical order anymore. This morning while tearing about the house Bodhi and Maya sent a silver bowl smashing and rolling to the floor. Fortunately I am a budding silversmith and was able to fix the dents. My husband will never know. Whats next?

guchina & guchissimo. Those of us who have Abyssinians know all about this throwing things off of high places to hear and watch them fall and make noise. Fortunately, Jumper does not do this much anymore. But Snow Cat is forever doing this especially when he is hungry, or wants outside, or if his litter box is dirty. Fawn is also great at playing with plastic forks -they hold a special attraction for him, otherwise if things are out of place I have a good idea which furkid did it. Snow Tigress is great for transporting my socks and wash cloths around the house.:D

 This morning I woke up and my room was trashed. Osker had knocked over everything he could. My mom said that it was revenge for the bath we gave him:p

My cat likes to stick his paw in drinks to pull them over. He'll knock over anything and everything. I pretty much have to keep anything breakable out of his reach (too many broken wine glasses and stains!!)

My cats usually knock things down to get my attention. Storm will knock my pictures over and sometimes my hair dryer to get me up earlier in the morning. If I'm on the phone they'll do almost anything to get my attention including knocking things down. I tell them that this isn't a good way to get attention, but they keep on doing it. ;)

I guess we are lucky then, or we just have picked out all the things they could knock over
Wow!! I feel really lucky!! Misty really does not knock things over. It really surprises me when she gets on things I watch her paws and legs go around things like a dancer and I know I could not be that danty. I would knock things off and she don't. I feel lucky!!

Yeah, me too, I guess I have been lucky, because none of the 4 cats I have had have ever knocked anything over, on purpose..there have been a few accidents, very few.
the other day, one of the new grey cats knocked down a clay flower pot, and it scared her,she ran!

I had an Easter tree and Tilly knocked it over to play with all the ornaments on it! She also likes to knock over pictures.. doens't seem to matter where they are, if it's in a frame, it's fair game! :D

YumYum does that when we stay over night someplace. There is a picture or something always on the floor when we return. I think it is because she is mad at us for not coming home and keeping her inside for one day! :)
