If you are thinking about adopting a new cat or kitten, please consider adopting a cute ball of fur from the savethekitties.org Web site.

Save The Kitties is a non-profit group of volunteers from all over the United States and Canada that has provided donations for the veterinary and boarding expenses of the rescued cats and kittens.

The cats and kittens were saved from the gas chamber with only hours to live. They were rescued by volunteers from the Spalding County Animal Shelter in Griffin, GA. All kitties have had their first veterinary visits or are in progress and are in temporary housing in Waldorf, Maryland and in Georgia.

Now they need loving and forever homes. Please visit our Web site, and if you can see it in your heart to give one of these kitties a second chance, please contact Debbie at [email protected] or one of the contact persons on the savethekitties.org Web site.

Thank you

I wish I could, but Tigei's a bit territorial, and we don't have the money for the expenses for another cat, and supplies, along with "pet rent" Sry! :(

Thank you for your reply. I am not able to help with fostering or adopting the cats or kittens either because I live too far away, so I volunteer my time posting ads like this to help try and find them homes.

Everyone on the volunteer/rescue team has been working so hard to try and find them homes and we've placed a few which is good. Nevertheless, plenty of work still to be done.

Thanks again,
mrbluekitties Mom :D

That's the beauty of the internet is being able to share info like this. ;) I do extensive rescuing, and am always scrounging to find homes and foster people for the many street waifs around here. (Near Boston, MA) It gets so exhausting with the amounts around here needing refuge from the streets, and I know that states down South are far worse off than here. Dogs are actually imported to the North..and I could only wish the same would happen with cats. One thing that I wish was banned was the gas chambers for these animals...and there's very few shelters that have opted for injectable euthanasia methods...but it's probably a much easier way to go. I also think it's about time mandatory spay/neuter laws were put on the books. ;) Keep putting out the word about these "last chance pets"!
Here's a link that really tells it all..... :(

Thanks for the reply and we are posting everywhere that we can. It is very hard, escpecially now with the overload of dogs and cats from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I never imagined that the Southern states were so anti-animal as far as s/n and the over abundance of gas chamber shelters. Good spay/neuter laws need to be put into effect or the problem will never go away, leaving the poor animals to suffer.

Keep up your good work with helping the animals.
