today is Happys 5th thats right her FIFTH birthday!, I cant believe she is already an oldie ;)
I got Happy on January 8th 2001, she was born on October 27th 2000, out of Dyna and Cajun, it was thought that Happy would never make a flyball dog..and that she would have no herding instinct, and that Agility would be her thing.............................. YA RIGHT!
at 16 weeks Happy graduated top in her obedience class of all adult dogs. flyball was a slow start but by the time she was 4 years old people were begging us to give her to them, the more she ran the faster she became, her last tourny she continuously clocked in in the mid 3 second range, making her one of the fastest flyball dogs around. then just this past June Happy got to go herding, seeing as her sire should never have been bred as he has ZERO herding instinct and no brain either lol everyine assumed she sould not be able to herd..luckily she takes after her mother. Happy wowed the farmers and trialers, they could not believe she had never seen sheep before, within 10 minuts she found her balance, within 30 minuts she was doing perfect outruns, she never once got stuck in cornors and never once lost her mind, few border collies know what to do the first time they ever see sheep, there is a reason they are normally started in a round pen. Agily Happy can do pretty well, she dont fall for traps, I recall at one fun match there was a tunnel trap, the dogs were supposed to go to the table at a 45 degree angle fron the tunnel, Happy was the only dog that did not fall for the tunnel, I was behind her I said table, she went to the table, that suprised me lol she HATES the table and she LOVES the tunnel. canb forget frisbee, Happys dad had always been the frisbee champ on the club, at a year old Happy stole that title away without a hitch. when Happy was younger she HATED kids, she had to be kept tightley restraight to prevent her from attacking them. then she realized that kids wanted to play with her..she now thinks kids are the greatest things on the planet, she knows every kid in the area, they all adore her. cant forget how much she impresses people, Happy is a show off, she will "forget" how to do something..that is until someone wants to watch. many of you have seen skidboot on TV, well Happy can do pretty much everything skidboot can do. Happy is a dog I can speak to as if she is a human, I dont have to worry about weather or not she knows what I am saying, because she does, she always knows what I am saying, she could have never heard the words before in her life, I say it she does it. everywhere Happy goes people fall in love with her, and wish that their dogs could do what she does lol
