high school student and there is no way in hell I won't go to college because my parents say life will suck and be ruined if I don't have a degree so I have to maintain my grades just to the level that a college will accept me.

Student in the fact that I learn something every day, graduated in the sense that I no longer have to pay money to learn (that was college), or get graded on what I do or don't learn!

Same here. Everything I want to learn isn't offered in College or University.
I graduated last year. I'm enjoying life so much more now. I never knew how tired I really was until school ended.

I actually can't wait for college. I am sooo tired of High School but I am looking forward to living away from home and the whole college experience. I couldn't imagine not going to college these days because so much requires a higher education. Anyways, I super excited.

I graduated high school 5 years ago. I didn't go to college for many reasons, basically it just isn't for me.
I think college is overrated. When I was in high school teachers and other people all tell you that you "have to go to college". I know virtually no one who went to college and is now using their degree. I'm not saying that college is bad, for a lot of people it's great. I just wish teachers would stop brainwashing their students into thinking that they have to go to college.

Graduated from high school in 1979, waited a year before going to college, graduated college 1985, then waited another few years and started working on a Masters Degree at Boston University----never completed that but finished 18 credits towards it before returning to Nebraska.
In 1992 I went back and got an Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting in one year, and I've been working for an Ophthalmologist (eye doctor with a medical doctor's degree) ever since.
A two-year technical program was more beneficial to me than the four-year college degree was! I finished the two-year program in one year, because the first year credits transferred from my college transcript.

This is the second school year that has gone by where I have not had to participate. Heh.
I graduated a year and a half early but it would have been two and a half years had I not had a rough time with some economics things.

College student, I just started the Vet Tech program at school. So far, I LOVE it. (Except Microbiology, no thank you!) I have to admit that when I graduated High School (2000) I was nt interested in college and only went because my parents were paying for it, so for the first four years (!!!) of school I just drifted through a series of classes not really caring about my grades.
Once I realized that my dad was WRONG and being a Vet Tech IS a worthwhile goal, my GPA went up to 3.75 and I started to enjoy myself a lot.

Neither... ?
I went to 2 colleges for 4 years for 5 different subjects (Business-marketing, Business-HR, Business-Environmental, Computer Programming, Electrical Engineering/Information networking) -- and never finished any of them. School just wasn't for me -at the time- and i've thought about going back (i need 6 credits for a business diploma), but then ... i just dont have the time!
I've been senior technical software support, technical call center team lead, QA, Dev, North American corporate trainer, and now a technical writer ... I think I got lucky tho since I started all the computer nerd stuff before you needed that piece of paper to prove you knew your stuff.

80 percent of US's high schools are from 9-12th grade. Around here, there is high schools that have 10-12th graders also.
