I took our Annie back to the Vet. today for another checkup on her left eye. She still has some staining of the cornea when they put the fluorescein dye in it. We have been treating this eye ever since we brought her home on April 30, when she was just 2 weeks old. BUT it is S-L-O-W-L-Y improving, and at least she still has the eye! We need to keep instilling the antibiotic eye drops every day, and continue to monitor it. The Vet. also gave us some dietary supplement that is supposed to be beneficial to the corneas in cases like this. (He had given it to us to give to her when we were there in June or July, too, so she's had it before, and she LIKES it.)

She was weighed there, and their scale says she weighs 6 and 1/2 pounds. (Mine at home the other day said 7, but I wasn't sure how accurate mine is.) She is healthy, and gaining weight, etc.

ANYWAY, my computer is in the "shop" for a few days, so I am at our public library tonight to try to catch up on things. I should get mine back in the next day or so, and then I'll try to do some more catching up......

Oh, yeah, I forgot to add that I told them at the Vet.'s that the Humane Society FINALLY called us to check up on her, and that we FINALLY officially adopted her, so she is no longer a "little orphan" legally. Their response was "Oh, but she'll ALWAYS be 'Little Orphan Annie' to us." :) This was meant (and taken) in a positive way, because her official name WILL always be "Little Orphan Annie", as I think I've stated somewhere else in another thread on this forum. It will be a furever reminder of the start of her life. We feel that we are so blessed to have been chosen as her furever family! :)
