I have a 2yr old female cat named Lilbit. She only weighed 1 1/4 # when I found her, she was near death. I took her in and immediately took her to the vets. He treated her and she was like a baby, I wrapped her in blankets and feed her by hand. She thinks I am her mommy and she follows me everywhere.
She is very nosy and is always getting into something, bags, boxes etc. This evening she got one of my granddaughters glow in the dark plastic bracelet. Well we found two pieces chewed but not the third. Then later this evening I got out of bed and heard her chewing on something, seems she had found a chocolate bar of my grandsons and had eaten almost one half square of the Caramello bar she found.
My question is should I call the vet, is it enough to make her sick? She is a hardy 14# now but she is still my baby.
I don't know whether to call the emergency vets or not, she is acting fine but after all I am her mother. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wow, a sweet tooth! I know chocolate is lethal to dogs, but I don't know about cats.

A call to the vet could end your dilemma, couldn't hurt.

I would just make a call to the vet as I don't think chocolate is good for them. Better safe than sorry.

I would wait, and see as maybe she can tolerate a bit,of chocolate.
I would keep an eye on here, just to be,on the safe side.
Cats will eat the strangest things, but they are a lot pickier than Dogs, and wont generally eat things that are bad for them.

I would be horrified that she may have swollowed some of that glow in the dark bracelet, I would think that could be lethal and chocolate is NOT good for cats so I, myself WOULD be calling a vet. I hope she will be alright but I would not take the chance if she were mine.

WELCOME to Pet Talk! Hope you hang around here. It is very educational, informative and a lot of fun. We love pictures too (in case you haven't noticed) and we would love to see a picture of her. There are a lot of really nice people here, some beautiful furr kids, funny stories, lessons to learn and a good way to skip the ole dreaded housework...
