Hi all, once again, showing you a portrait I did. Meet Leonardo, the FEMALE kitty. They thought she was a he... well you get the idea!
I had a real hard time with this portrait because the reference photos were AWFUL.
Here's the photos I had to work with:

and the final portrait:

I just hope I did her justice and caught her look right. He wanted me to make her regal looking (which is why I straightened her up instead of hunched over) and he wanted to show off her orange spots on her back. I think I got taht -- I just hope her eyes are truly that green, and that I caputred her facial features right. I mailed it off to her dad yesterday, so I'll know in a few days if he's pleased or not. I'm actually nervous about this one. Its the first time I haven't been completely satisfied with the final result... but I think its because I had such bad reference photos :o
PS: Miss Abby was the model for the pose. :D Only problem is that Abby's head is much smaller than Leonardo's and her back side is a little fuller ;) I made those adjustments as I drew, but at least I knew the structure was correct and that a cat could truly sit like that.

and after much debate, I decided that I LIKED the way the tree was behind her -- I thought it made a nice composition where the branches drew you to Leonardo's face.
Soo... what do you think? Do you think Leonardo's dad will be happy? I'm very hesitant to even post this one, because it doesn't feel like my best work. I guess I'm just used to having good reference photos to know what I'm dealing with. I felt like I had to make up so many factors in this one, and I hope they all came together.
