The shots you get for your dogs routinely will not protect against this new virus that's sweeping across the country. If your dog shows symptoms similar to kennel cough, better safe than sorry..get the dog to the vets. Many greyhounds have perished from this, and now it's showing up everywhere. Elderly dogs and pups are most susceptable to dying from this, but any dog showing these symptoms should be seen promptly as antibiotics given when the signs first show up, have a better chance at kicking the flu out.;)

Do you know how it happened? A horse gave it to a dog and the dog passed it on. Yes, it is hitting many dogs. One of my friend's thinks her senior dog has it :(

Lbaker works for a scientific journal, and sent us this to post - it is a pdf, so you'll need acrobat reader (most people already have it) which is a free download from http://adobe.com if you cannot "see" this.
