It would be neat if we do kind of what the Favorite Dog Breeds person did. We should see how many people don't like a certain type of dog as one of their top 10. Then we would know what we had in common/not in common.

I honestly can't say I have a "least favorite" breed - evry time I've thought. "Well, I really don't think I'd want a ......, I meet one who is just as friendly and lovable and sweet as every other breed!
So I can't vote here!

I think it is going to be unlikely that you get many takers on this poll!! Maybe if you could edit the question to say something like, "of the following 10 breeds, which would you be least likely to want". Just a twist of words makes us hesistant to answer!! LOL!!! I have an answer of the breed I would be least likely to get from your list, but I'll never tell. :o Couldn't bear to think of hurting someone's feelings! :) Besides, I never say never....cause you just don't know!! :D

There are certain breeds that are not my favorite, but I would never say anything in fear of hurting anyone's feelings. I also have an open mind, and know that certain breeds may have a bad rep, but there are always exceptions to every breed.

I agree...there are certain breeds that wouldn't be my favourites. And I wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of people who love them by naming them.
But I also know that if one of the breeds I'm not keen on was in need & we took it into our home to foster it...I would instantly love it as it would become a member of our family.

I agree with you guys in some ways but I think that we are all friends and we shouldn't get mad at each other if someone doesn't fancy a breed another person might love.
I adore and love beagles but I wouldn't hate a person if they came here and said they hated beagles. My greatgrandmother can't stand hounds she hates them but I love her just the same ...lol..
Well, I would answer the poll IF I didn'g care for a certain breed. But I love them all!!!! Sure I have my favorites (well a list of them that could probably reach from here to Tinbucktu but still!) but there isn't one breed that I wouldn't love to have!

I don't think there is one bredd I can say I don't like...there are some that I have seen poor examples of, and some that would not be right for my situation, but I think any bredd of dog can be a good dog, with proper training and care

I prefer the large breeds, however, I wouldn't mind a smaller type dog to go with the big guys.
I guess I'm just like most everyone else here, I love em all. :)
OK!!! Who voted Poodle?? 'Fess up!! I'm not mad. I'm just going to make you meet Reece because I KNOW for a fact he'd change your mind! :)

Like others have said, I've known some INDIVIDUAL dogs that I didn't much care for, but never an entire breed....Although I gotta say that just now hubby walked in, looked over my shoulder at the list in the poll, and said "Put in Saluki!" When he was about 10 years old some nasty Saluki used to get loose and chase him on his bike during his paper route! He claims he hated that dog--but the whole thing just makes me giggle. ;)

I can't really say that I dislike a certain breed. But, there are some dogs that make me (even though I've got my own Cookie always with me) change routes.
As a child, a Belgian Shephard (large and black with big teeth) came running towards me and my dog and took a painful bite out of my leg. Ever since I'm very much afraid of those and keep distance even though I know that it was just because that particular dog was brought up by a mentally disturbed person.
Aly you KNOW it wasn't me! :D :D LOL! I can't say that I really dislike any breed although some appeal to me more than others. The older I get the more I know that I am better suited to a smaller dog. They are just easier for me to handle. Bella is about 35-37 lbs. now and I think that's my upper limit! HA! I do admire lots of large dogs but don't think I have the strength and stamina to own one.

I didn't vote for poodle but I will honestly say there was a time that I didn't fancy them  don't get mad ...lol but then my aunt got a poodle for her son who is downs and she is the sweetest little girl in the world and totally changed the way I looked at poodles. She is very smart and loving and would never hurt Mike no matter what he did to her.
Okey since Im being honest I will say well I think I've said before that I don't fancy shelties. I have grown up with 6 of them and I never really took to them, I didn't care for their additude. Now it was probably all in the way my parents raised them :D :p

I am like C.C.'s mom. I had some bad experiences with some chows. They kept digging under our fence and beating up our dog and on Thanksgiving day they killed him while we were at my grandparents house. I like chows don't get me wrong I am just scared of them. I am not trying to judge them I think they are fluffy and cute and would love to just get lost in their fur while giving them a hug, but if I saw one walking lose on the street I would be scared of it.:( :(

Sorry Aly if i hurt your feelings, but i never said that i dont like Poodles, is just that they arent in my top favorites breeds.
And maybe is because where i live there are lots of poodles and all of them are so agressive with my little lucho.
Sorry again.:(

Hi all,
I am a new one here, but have been reading for a while. I got tickled at the comment that as one got older, a smaller breed was easier to handle. After having a geriatric dog for a few years, we now have a one year old German shepherd (?)-border collie mix which got as a pup. She is about all I can handle at my age! I just realized I could have about 10 of those miniature yorkies for the same amount of dog pounds!

Freckles, how do I delete this?

Go to your very first post as thread starter. Click on edit (it's at the top - right side). Now the post opens up and it's where you can make changes in the text only. But for this, look at very top - left and there is a box to check to delete - check that, then next to that there is one more button to push. That will do it.

thanx Freckles! But what about all the posts the other people have already typed? What happens to them? My poll is for what dog is one of ur favorites not one of ur least favorites. Y dont people read the top before they do something? I am just trying to get some easy answers. I dont mean to be rude or anything.

I didn't find it a rude question, I was often curious how many people would fess up to disliking a breed. I think everyone is entitled to dislike a breed and us all being friends should respect that. Some dogs just don't do it for some people ;) Don't be sorry, it was interesting reading for me.

Sorry Sweet, I probably started the ball rolling when I read the thread title: Least favorite Dog Breed, and your post title: Dog Breed(s) that are not one of your top 10 favorites. That is what I based my opinion on.
Delete thread. Yes, everyone's comments would disappear. But keep that info handy for the future.

My feelings aren't hurt. I just hope you won't judge all Poodles from the bad ones you know. My Poodle loves EVERYone and everything. He loves cats, other dogs, kids, and everyone he's ever met! All this after being neglected badly by multiple people. You could put him in any situation, and he'd take it all in stride (which is why he's becoming a therapy dog in hospitals next month).
Again, my feelings aren't hurt. I just wanted a chance to speak my mind about my wonderful Poodle. Pam also has a great Poodle named Bella! And Tanya has little Fritz :)
Can you resist this face?
YaY Reece is going to be a therapy dog!! I didn't know that. What great news and I couldn't think of a doggie better suited to the job! There are two therapy dogs at the convalescent center where my mom is now. One is a golden retriever and one is a black lab. I think a small little guy like Reece might be nice to get in the laps of the folks who need a little TLC. Wish he lived closer. He'd do wonders for my mom and the others! By the way, thanks for the nice words about Bella. Poodles get a bad rap I am afraid because of their show hair cuts too. Underneath that fur they are fun loving, wonderful little smarties! :)

I just wanted to add something about Chows, I understand why they aren't the favorite! But we had one, Keisha, she died last June. We had her for 10 years, & I honestly couldn't think of a better dog. I think she made have been the runt of the litter, but maby that's what made her what she was. She was the gentlest, sweetest, loveable dog. She had the most amazing way of showing you she cared, maby a nudge or just a small kiss on the cheek, never on the mouth, never taught her that, she just knew.
Anyway, she was a wonderful dog! Just had to let you know!:)

I to don't have a favorite although I seem to go for the larger breeds. When watching the dog shows I seem to like the labs and retriever the best. I have a lab mix and a mastif and love them both beyond reason but I have a couple of poodle mixes tha tbroke my heart when they passed. So like so many of you I like them all.
I love Chows too. They have such a bad rap but I find them to be a very enjoyable breed. All the ones I have come across have been so well socialized and friendly. I actually think they're a lot like cats. They can be aloof but once you have that bond with one, nothing will break it!
Pam - A woman came into work today wanting a dog that was good with kids, didn't shed much, could sleep with her daughter in bed but play with her son in the backyard, smart, and good natured. I immediately suggested a standard poodle and the woman looked disgusted and said she hated poodles. She actually turned around and stormed out before I could help her further, sheeh!!!!!!
