new cockatiels

i have two new cockatiels! they are female. one bit me today. i was wondering how you teach them to be nice, and to trust ppl. i rescued them at an auction, so they prolly didn't have a good home. and any name suggestions???

since no one answered, i decided to name them belle and star. they are so cute! i just love them. :)

You should pick up a issue of bird talk the best bird magazine ever!Also birds usa is a great magazine too.

let bella and star have time to get used to there new home!Find out what treats they like and feed them to them and talk to them a lot.Let Star and Bella know you love them and are not going to hurt them

ok, so i will feed them through the cage, with fruits and stuff. and will let them get used to their home for a couple weeks. will they start to trust me and not bite me? and will i beable to teach them 'up'?

birds are not like cats and dogs sometimes they will bite that doesn't mean they don't like you it's just there way Go slow and buy a issue of bird talk magazine that was my life saver when i got my birds

my dad doesn't want to spend money on the magazine :( but thats ok, i look up stuff on the internet. we cut up some cucumbers last night. they loved them! they are really starting to warm up to us. you know that whistle that some guys on tv make when they see a pretty girl? (thats the only way i can explain it) well our cockatiels whistle that. its so cute. :)

Thats called the Wolf Whistle. My bennie does it ALL the time. :) Cockatiels make such great pets, i would love to get another one for my tiel to play with. Congrats on your girls :)
