I would like to introduce to you Miss Torie the Tortie Sphynx. Torie is a 3 year old blind sphynx (blind from birth)that was one of the rescues from the Ohio rescue I posted about. She's the first one on the left with the cloudy eyes)

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/Moosmom/tori.jpg

Next Saturday I will be travelling to Ohio to pick her up and take her new furrrrrrever home. HOPEFULLY, the Moo man will like the idea of girlfriend he can snuggle up to and burrow with when it gets cold. I may even take MooShoo along with me for the ride. It might give me an idea as to how he'll react.

She'll be in a cage in my bedroom, so my cats and she can all get used to each other's scents. I'm getting her a new snug snack and a sweater so when I take Moo out, she can come with us!

Okay, so I said no more cats. I could NOT pass up an opportunity to give a great home to a special needs cat. If it does not work out, the Ohio Sphynx Rescue will take her back. But I HOPE that's not gonna happen. ;)

Kim,

No, unfortunately it's just before the PA border. As a matter of fact I need to get directions and stuff too

Oh Donna, who ever actually MEANS "No more cats"?

Hmmm... does that mean you'll be traveling through Pennsylvania again? ;)

I fixed it, take a look. At least I THINK that's her. They said she still has her eyes, but is blind.

Congratulations and good luck. It might start out as a challenge (with her being blind) but I think you will be able to help her adjust.

I just spoke with Brenda. She's going to take another picture of her so you can see all of her. She said that she believes Torie has SOME site, even though it may just be shadows (which is exactly what MooShoo has), because she saw her jump onto a table. Hmmmm.

She told me that Torie is a real lovebug. I asked her about the type of food she's been eating, litter, that kind of stuff. I told her she'd be in a cage for a little while so my cats can get used to her and she's protected.

It's only a 3 hour drive from my house and I'll be picking her up on Sunday.

Also, to let you guys know, the pregnant female had 2 babies yesterday. They're still looking for homes if anyone is interested and wants to put in an application. They do VERY thorough checks on every application. She told me that I had excellent vet references and personal ones as well. Thanks to all who vouched for me.

As soon as I get the new picture, I'll post it.

Congratulations from the Tribe.

Pippin especially wants to say thanks for giving a blind kitty a wonderful home and family. He offers these "tips" :D :D :
1. Always say hello when you walk into the room where the blind cat is. Its the polite thing to do!
2. Blind cats love lots of treats....and MORE treats please!
3. Don't move the furniture without prior permission from the blind cat. This is an important rule and one we won't tolerate anyone breaking.
4. Don't put things on the bed that the blind cat doesn't know about, cuz when we jump up there.....we smack it with our nose.
5. Just because we can't see, doesn't mean we don't like to sit at an open window and birdwatch.
6. Blind cats can be just as adventurous, nawtee and goofy as the rest of the Tribe, so be prepared to forget that Torie is blind after a few days or weeks.

OK Pippin.....enough "advice". We are sure Donna will have Torie settled in and feeling right at home very soon. Good luck from the Tribe.

Thanks for the advice, Pippin. But from what Brenda told me, Torie CAN see shadows, just like her soon-to-be new boyfriend, MooShoo.
