Hi, my Sky's been sneezing a lot the last few days and I'm usually not too concerned because he tends to have sneezing attacks and they amount to nothing. Well he spent the night with me last night and kept waking up sneezing and he also seems to be very congested today so I'm taking him to the vets at 11am. I have a feeling that it's a bacterial infection.

Last June he had something similar but I waited a bit longer before I brought him to the vets and he was running a fever by then so we didn't know if he had an URI or a bacterial infection. He had to be on antibiotics for about 3 weeks before it was cleared up. He'll probably need a culture taken today and hopefully the vet will be able to give him something to help him while we wait for the test results.

Luckily he's still eating and drinking well so if this is what his problem is then I'm catching it early. Please keep him in your thoughts today. Thanks and I'll updated you when I can.

Good thoughts to you and Sky!! Hopefully you have caught it early enough, if it is something that requires medicine and he will be feeling better soon!

Good thoughts for Sky, in hopes that it's nothing serious and caught quickly.

Thanks everyone.:) As soon as I got to the exam room, Sky jumped out of his carrier and started purring. He acted like he was perfectly fine. His temperature was a little below normal and the vet said his chest and lungs sounded fine. He did sneeze a little bit while he was there so at least the vet didn't think that I was making this up.

Since he had a similar episode last year, the vet has put him on clavamox for the next 7 days but it's only 62.5mg 2 times a day. Last year he was on 125mg 2 times a day. He said if he's still having problems then he'll do a culture. It could be just allergies or even asthma but he'd need to take x-rays to rule this out. As soon as I got home,he started sneezing even more. Maybe he's allergic to his new brother and sister because this is the only thing that's new around here. LOL:) Whatever he has, I caught it early so hopefully the meds will clear him up.

It could be enviormental allergies even though he doesn't go outside pollens get in side. As a allergy sufferer I know it's impossible to completely keep it out. I moved to Montana and mine and my sons have disappered. In Washington we were drugged out 8 months out of the year. When we visit the poor kid is only there 2 days and on full meds again,I seem to be able to handle a week before needing any thing.
Hope it is just allergies.

Thanks everyone.:) He's doing well but still sneezing a little from time to time. He seems less congested too which is good. I thought he was on the meds for 7 days but it turns out it's for 10 days so hopefully everything will clear up.:)

I'm sorry that I didn't update you sooner but I've been very busy and then Storm had me worried because he decided not to eat anything at all yesterday. He finally ate some dry food late last night and then threw up everything.:( Today he's much more like his old self and has been eating again so he must of had an upset tummy. I'm so relieved.:) My furkids are going to give me many more gray hairs than I already have if they keep worrying me like this.;)
