Hi All!
I hope this fins everyone in good spirits.

Jesse James has been here over 2 weeks. he is settling in....taking over. :D

You would never know this child only has 3 legs. He tears up and down the stairs.. dive bombs the other boys who are NOT impressed, and is exploring all areas of the house top to bottom.

I have a potential problem though. This little angel/demon son of mine has this love to poop in my plants. In the bedroom, he has done thiss 2 times.. and his litter box is in the big dog crate taht he has been sleeping in at night. I also have a litter box in the basement with the big boys litter boxes. He went for a plant in the kitchen this afternoon and I scooped him up and planted his sweetness in the basement box. He used one of the boys boxes. I parised him after he went tinkles... then not 15 minutes laster he scooted upstairs and pooped in the plant.

Do I try the aluminum foil trick or buy ATTRACK CAT LItter?

ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Deb

Aluminum foil. Some cats just like real dirt better than litter. My old cat is one of those. He HATES the litter boxes, and prefers to go outside.

ok I'll try the aluminum foil.

Here's another problem. Jesse is a powerful lil pooper. The vet said it's because his food has more nutrients etc. Anyway.. because he has the 3 legs and is so little I have been keping ina HUGE dog crate at night with water, food, cardboard lids as litter pans, as they are easier to get in and out of. My husband is reaching his limit of patience. Jesse is 5 months old. We have had him almost 3 weeks. Should I Move the dog crate to the basement and then take it back tot he SPCA.
Do you all think he is ready to be cut loose at night and take his littler boxes tot he basement with teh "Big Boys"? I have shown him the boxes in the basement.
PLEASE HELP.

Oh no, what a bad boy is is! I think you can try moving the crate to the basement and watch him for a few days and see what happens. I may not be the best person to answer that though, as I have never had that problem. Katie and Belle are my first two cats ever. Good luck, let us know what happens :)

Thanks Jen....
My HUbby has been so good and patient.....there is this HUGE dog crate in the bed room. I guess it is getting to him.

Were your two fur children babies when you adopted them?
If so.. what did you do at night? Did you leave to wander in the house? We have been putting him in the crate at night to keep him safe an dout of mischief. He wimpers because he wants to stay out. I am feeling down right now trying to do what is right and best.
I Haven't had a fur baby in 15 years. I usually only adopt adults.

Help.

Belle was abandoned by her mom as a baby, so we got her when she was about 3-4 weeks. We kept her in a spare bedroom with a baby gate up. She never whined or anything in there (unless she was hungry ;) ). I was so nervous when we decided to let her roam (she was about 10 weeks by then). I followed her around for a little while, she explored, everything turned out fine. She slept between and hubby for the first few nights. Then we decided to get Katie (we wanted to get a cat around Belle's age) - we went to a shelter and picked her out. She was about 10-11 weeks old. We put the cats together right away (maybe not the best idea, but we didn;t know that at the time). They both had the run of the house - actually they were friends in less than a week. Everything worked out really well :)

Jen,
I love you. you are such a dear friend. Your kind words, support and encouragement is like a breath of fresh air.

I am hoping that the boys will eventually accept little Jesse James.
He is the dearest little treasure.

I took his big dog crate to the basement. He has this bigplushy foam bed with blanket sin it, plus his carpet covered Teepe, and all of his "UPSTAIRS" toys. I did put a "big boy" littler box in the bed room too just in case. The basement is a long way to go when you are such a little guy.:) But the bedroom does look better.

I found out my hubby wasn't frustrated at all about Jesse James smelly potent poopy......it was my SNORING! WHY DON'T MEN SAY WHAT IS BUGGING THEM???? AM I SUPPOSED TO BE A MIND READER???

PLEASE give your sweet babies a hug and kiss for me.

Jen.. could I PM you sometime?

Blessings,
Deb

We cover the soil of all our plants with lots of big rocks. Makes it kind of difficult to find a good poo-spot;)

THanks Jen!

I have no idea where Jesse James slept last night....but I came in here and found little toy mice on the rug so I think he was playing for awhile.

He has had his breakfast with the boys. I found this supplemental milk at Pet Smart. They ALL love it. Hopefully he'll make it to his litter box down stairs. :

Today, I am taking Morgan to the vet. I have been attempting to give him meds for his pinched nerves but he drools, foams at the mouth and throws up. It doesn't matter if it is the pill or liquid. I cannot puthim thru this. He is truly traumatized. So my wonderful vet will look him over to see if anything helped him then may have to give him a steroid injection. Both of us don't want to do that but it would only be a one time injection. She wants to give his muscles andnerves time to relax.

The kids are grooming from breakfast and will be sunning themselves soon.

Love,
deb

rocks..............that's a good idea. I'm going to try some rocks.
I tried the aluminum foil and that did not work because my new kitten (8 days now) actually likes the foil
Then, the dog gets in on it by digging around for the kitty 'tootsie rolls' that she likes so much.
