RICHARD

Since we are in the process of apologizing for for things we have or haven't done...George Bush, are you listening??? ;)

I think that THIS Thursday session will be a light hearted apology session for the patrons of Thursdays..

I'll come back with a suitable DOTD, but first I'd like to throw out the first apology.

I want to apologize for breaking up a marriage once.

And I want to apologize for driving the gal to re-marry her ex husband.

Actually,
who am I kidding???;)

DONE?:D

I would like to apologise that I couldn't wait to find out what the drink was. Can I just have one please? It's been a busy week. :D

I would like to apologize for running down Gini's street in my jammies yelling in the middle of the night  For a DOTD how about a Verbena Mojito.. 10 to 12 verbena leaves, muddled with lemon slices and 1 ounce of simple syrup. Add citrus rum or citrus vodka and ice and shake vigorously with muddled mix. Pour into tumbler and top with soda. hehehehe - "take something muddled and shake vigorously" sounds like a perfect Thursday's drink to me :D

Can I apologize for not apologizing because I have nothing to apologize for.......or should I just say I'm sorry because I don't understand US politics?

Hmmmm, maybe I'll just shut up and see what transpires....this has me confooozled.....but what else is new?

Karen, I can't wait either...oops, should I apologize for that? Let's hammer into this blender of slushies I just made! :D

Laurie.....:) :) :)

I apologize to Gini for arriving in the middle of the night and causing Laurie to run down the street in her jammies. But I won't apologize for enjoying the sight!

I'll take one of those drinks. Make it a double. It's been "that kind" of a month.

The day Katrina hit the coast, our business went 'live' with a whole new software system. Chaos everywhere.

I don't see Mario. Is he hiding?

Mario is in the corner looking muddled and shaking vigorously  He thinks he'll get an extra drink that way ;) HI MARY! HI SLICK! HI KAREN!! Richard? Are you here somewhere? Come out come out wherever you are!!!

Mary, how about I apologize for the absolutely filthy bathtub you found upon your arrival.

I told you that it was the result of some serious plumbing problems - actually it had been that way for months!:D :D

Who knew that the crowd wanted to take showers?:D :D

I would like a vat of the DOTD served back here for me and Mario!

Theme of the Day: LIGHTEN UP!!:p :p

LOLOL,

Some paper work got lost between buildings. I handed it off to a gal and she lost it in two blocks of travel..

They called me to ask me where it was...I told this chick that I didn't have it 5 times....I told a co worker I looked in my rear for it..

She told me that if I go potty later on and the papers come out, I'll be in trouble....

A good BM sounds wonderful....

Double? Better!!!!

I am sorry for trusting an airhead to carry back important papers.

Hiya Slick.. guess it's just you and me kid (so far anyway). I can't stay too long but prop your feet up and rest your brain for awhile. I'll bring us a few drinks and some munchies and we can get caught up. Haven't had much of a chance to chat with anyone lately, I've been a bit out of touch *with reality maybe? * but that's life. Mario is napping so maybe we have time to set up a scrabble board - wanna play scrabble? Hi Richard! I'm the lemonade queen... allow me while you keep Slick company :D

Funny you should mention it. But...

WHO THE HELL IS MARIO???????

Either my mind is mush from all the Tetrahydracanibenoid I did as a teenager, or he's a figment of all YOURS imaginations.

Now that I've probably made a total a$$ of myself, I'll have a double mudslide and a dish of nacho chips and salsa, and slink over unnoticed into a nice quiet corner alone.

I'm really not fit to be around anyone today.

09-15-2005, 04:46 PM
Oh Mario - don't cry - Donna really has never met you before. She doesn't know who you are and how important you are to all of us (well most of the time).

Donna - this is Mario - Mario - this is Donna - you are going to like her a lot. See, she is already drying your eyes with her hanky.

Donna, Mario IS A REAL MONKEY. Do you know Willie? Well, a bunch of Thursdays ago we adopted Mario, Willie's monkey, and he is our mascot here at Thursdays.

Watch out - he steals things and runs away and hides. But if you bring him his own jar of cherries he is your friend for life - errr - well maybe only until the cherries run out.

Donna, I highly recommend you sit down with Mario and get to know him.......and could you change his diaper while you are at it?:D :D

slick
09-15-2005, 04:51 PM
and could you change his diaper while you are at it?

Now Gini, do you really think that's fair...given that Donna is a fairly new patron??? Well, OK.....I guess we all have to dive in eventually.

Donna, here are some gloves and a gas mask. Good luck!! :D There will be a mega mudslide waiting for you when you are done. ;)

Hey Mario you remember your manners young man. Hey did we ever find the door key after he tossed it on the roof after our deck party?
( Has any one told Donna about the L&F room and the you know what that Slick and Gini keep in there?)

You're putting me on, right??? (no offense Mario).

So, lemme get this straight (even before I've had my coffee) Mario ISN'T a figment of all your imaginations, like pink elephants are mine when I've had too many cherry martinis???

I think I'll keep Mario and his existence to myself. If I tell any of my friends, I'll be in a rubber room for sure!!!!!

Oh, and ya better add an extra shot of vodka to that mudslide cuz this is just making me laugh so hard my sides hurt!!!

In real life Mario lives in Tennessee with Willie and Willie's family. Mario is a widower, his wife used to be in the circus but died several years ago :( He has free rein of the place and would be insulted if he had to live in a cage. Here at Thursdays he still has free rein of the place and can be quite helpful when not being a little imp. Willie had a video of Mario playing with her Grandson a year or so back. It was great. :D

slick
09-16-2005, 12:20 PM
Gee, I'm sorry I didn't get here earlier to explain about Mario. Yes, Donna, he is real and has become our Thursdays mascot.

( Has any one told Donna about the L&F room and the you know what that Slick and Gini keep in there?)
All I can say about the Lost and Found, is stay clear...especially if you hear strange noises. Hmm, that reminds me, soon we will have to get out the Halloweenie decorations and make sure the Christmas decorations aren't buried in the back.

It's going to be a great day today even though it's raining here. Think I'll have a spanish coffee to start. Oh yes Mario, you can put a cherry on top...but not if you licked it!

OMD, did someone say firemen!!!! ;) :D

09-16-2005, 12:31 PM
ewww, spinach coffee? YUCKIE! Donna, by the way... Tennessee Mario has been cloned. I have one of his clones at my house (Slick gave him to me in Seattle) and he has been to Gini's BBQ twice now. He's a very well traveled youngun'. The flight attendents all love him. Travel with Mario and you are certain to get a free beer or two :D REALLY!! Would I kid you

gini
09-16-2005, 12:56 PM
Donna.........a true story.

My niece attended the BBQ this year - so she now knows all about Thursdays and what it means - and she knows about Mario.

Her Dad, my brother, was visiting and I mentioned that I was really surprised because it was already Thursday and no one had opened Thursdays - so I had to do it.

My brother looked at me and said "what do you mean, you had to open Thursdays?"

My niece and I sat there howling - how do you ever explain the craziness that goes on here? You don't - you keep it to yourself and just have fun.

Could you bring your pink elephants one of these days? I bet Mario would love a ride on them.

And I forgot the original theme of the thread:

I'm sorry that I sometimes (too often) forget to reread my posts, and so leave confusing typos in them.

Better brew a new pot of tea, this time I'll use my lovely old Wedgwood teapot that I got as a wedding present from my elderly friend, Mrs. Aldrin (yes, her nephew was Buzz Aldrin. Okay, he's still alive, but she has since passed away). But it's very old Wedgwood, that darker blue, and it looks so pretty with the warm red-brown tea.

September 19 maties! TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!!!

T'me,
Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho,
It's "Talk Like A Pirate" Day!When timbers are shivered and lillies are livered
And every last buckle is swashed,
We'll abandon our cars for a shipfull of ARRRs
And pound back the grog till we're sloshed. Yo ho...

Don't pick up yer phone and say "Hello,
Your ten-o-clock meeting's delayed",
Ye scrunch up yer face and ye bellow,
"AVAST! Ye've been bleedin' BELAYED!"

 :D

Pirates?! Haha.. I was just looking through my closet for old Halloween costumes and found my old Pirate one.

Simba has a Pirate costume, too...

I don't think there's a cuter pirate than him.... Johnny Depp comes in close at second though. ;) But, I've never seen Richard as a pirate so who knows.......

I am sorry that I have not been attentive to the bar for the past few days.

I am sorry for laughing at Gini's plumbing problems...

I went home on Friday and my mom announces that her sewer line is plugged up..

My brother rents a snake (no not that kinda snake;)!)

And we get up on Saturday and try to run it to the street...

The snake doesn't feed right.. it gets all tangled up and they
gave us a blade that doesn't belong to that model machine.

The rental place closes at 12 p.m.....and it's 11:55../

On sunday I had to climb under the house and go into the system from there.

no fun at all....

But her toilet flushes now!!:D

Thanks for keeping the place jumping everyone!!!
