Wild Bill and Miss Kitty

MSNBC.com has been following the story of Bill Harris (http://katrinablog.msnbc.com/2005/09/the_amazing_sto.html#below-fold), who credits his cat, Miss Kitty, with saving his life when his condo was flooded during Hurricane Katrina.

He stood on a chair for three days, clutching Miss Kitty, until rescuers came. Unfortunately, the rescuers wouldn't take Miss Kitty along.

But then a Slidell, La., animal control officer and a Noah's Wish volunteer went to the condo and were able to trap a cat they hoped was Miss Kitty.

Mr. Harris is hospitalized, but the folks who rescued Miss Kitty were able to bring her to the hospital for a reunion. Watch the video here (http://katrinablog.msnbc.com/) .

In the midst of so much tragedy, it's wonderful to see a moment of pure happiness. Best wishes to Mr. Harris and his beautiful cat!

I can't help but think that he'll recover faster knowing that Miss Kitty is safe. She may end up saving his life twice!

What a wonderful reunion! You can really see the bond between Bill & Miss Kitty...praying they have many more happy years ahead with each other. :) I'm amazed at how calm Miss Kitty is despite all the rejoicing going on around her. :)

Oh wow, that was so beautiful!!! Miss Kitty was handled with such love and gentleness by her rescuers. There's no doubt that she's loved by her owner. Praying that this gentleman has a speedy recovery and with Miss Kitty securely in his arms they both will be able to start their new furever life TOGETHER!!!!!

What a heartwarming story. My gosh, you can really feel and see the love these two have for each other. I love the way Miss Kitty starts to knead as soon as you hold her. What a sweet gentle cat she is.

I pray that Mr. Harris has a speedy recovery.
