Introduction

Hi, My name is Brianna, and I'm 12 years old. I enjoy equestrian riding, and I also love animals of all shapes and sizes. Anyone that wants may e-mail or pm me any time nessisary.

I have 1 fuzzle and her name is Muffy. She is a one year old sable ferret. I have only had her for about 4 days, but I certianly am getting atached!

The way I first started loving ferrets was about 1 year ago. I wandered into my local pet store, and found a little fuzzy thing laying in cage. I asked the pet store clerk what it was, and she said a ferret. She took the ferret out, and placed the ferret into my arms, and I almost melted! I felt as though it was love at first sight. Of course my mom wouldn't let me have one, so I did a ton of reashearch up to where I am now. And finally i got my fuzzle! She is about 1 lb. and about 12 in long. She is a marshals ferret! I have posted a picture on my baby, and I wanted everyone to see her! [/FONT]

Hi Brianna,

I'm glad you got your ferret baby and are spoiling her. However, next time, I wouldn't recommend buying a ferret from a pet store. All of those ferrets come from ferret mills, unsanitary "farms" where the ferrets are used as breeding machines. I don't remember which farms are most notorious for producing ill-fated ferrets, but Marshall and Triple F (I think?) are among the largest. A better option would be to buy a ferret from a reputable breeder or adopt one :)

At any rate, I'm very glad you did so much research before acquiring your pet and you are VERY mature for a 12 year old! :D Welcome to Pet Talk!

Muffy sounds adorable, and I can't wait to see her! She sounds adorable! As for the pet store, I agree, they aren't the best places! Atleast you got a healthy girl though!:) Now your hooked on ferrets, when are you getting the next one!?! LOL! (Don't worry, I am only joking!)
