i have a rabbit that had babies. we got rid of all of them except 3 baby boys. we are keeping them caged together right now. they are 11 weeks old. will they start fight if we keep them caged together for a month longer? (the cage is a very large one)

You need a photohosting site...photbucket.com works well here. msn groups will not work nor will webshots. First get yourself an account with photobucket. Then post your pics into your photbucket account. Once you have that done simple copy the bottom box IMG under your picture in photobucket and paste it into a message box here. Post you message and you should have pics.

Your term "we got rid of them all" except three concerns me, could you clarify exactly what you mean? I hope you mean you found homes for them.
I cannot answer your question as I do not know much about rabbits, but I am certain someone will reply about that, now I hope you can honestly answer my question, thanks.

i mean we sold all the babies for 10 dollars. yah 'we got rid of them all' sounds harsh. but that not what i mean't. the three boys will be going to there new home on september 25th.

yes i hope so too. 2 of the babies went to an experienced home. and 2 of them went to a home who has never had rabbits.

thats such irresponsible breeding they are probley also a mix , but for the babies sake i will help.. they dont start maturing until 6 months but can start at 4 months or younger so if you see any signs of fighting then seperate them , do youn know who tooke your babies, not putting male teenagers down but most are stupid and will do irresponsible things like set them on fire and stuff , also some people buy them for meat , next time dont breed your rabbits please we dont need more in this world if you want another adopt not be irresponsible...

whats so irresponsible about putting them in good homes???
the person that took two of them is my dad best friend. the other was a younger girl who had a rabbit as a child, and wants another one as a companian. there is NOTHING irresponsible about that. we are keeping one of the babies, and the other 2 are going to there home in september. so i think you need to think the facts straight through before you assume anything!

wats irresponsible is that they are mutts and there are plenty of baby and adult buns waiting in shelters to be adopted if those people wanted a bunny why didnt they go to a shelter instead of supporting irresponsible breeding? someone might say they have owned them before have you ever herd of lying!? bunnies are used for snake food, people food, and other stuff like training fighting dogs or grey hounds, thats what people look for is cheap bunnies $10 is very cheap someone could come up to you and say oh ive owned bunnies my whole life ill take one and then cook it! ya that seems like a real good life.....oh and that young girl was she young enough to live with her mother? how do you know she asked her mum for permission how do you know that bunny isn't sitting in a shelter right now because she couldnt keep it? i think you need to get you facts straight before breeding irresponsibly again!

ive bred my bunny irrespopnsibly before and man did i get in trouble from a bunny group im apart of im just trying to help ive learned my lesson and you need to aswell i dont think you'd like your bunnies to be in bad homes and if you had a hard time finding them homes this time what are you goin to do about the litter that is coming up? its fun having babies around but think of theyre needs not yours, also by having your rabbits un spayed/ nutered they can get a high ris of ovarian cancers and stuff and there life expectency is alot shorter i payed almost 200 to get my girl fixed, if you loveyour rabbits that much dont breed them get them fixed so they can be happy not you

my rabbits are happy!! did i even say they were mixed breed?!?!? no i didn't! and the person we sold the 2 bunnies to is expirenced! hes my dad's best friend. the girl was in her 20's, i doubt she was still with her parents. i know your saying you can't trust everyone, but how are you going to give the babies homes if you cant trust anyone!?! stop telling me it was irresponsible because it isn't.

i dont knwo they were a mix but i know the litter coming up is you even said so! you bred your cinnamon to a holland lop! so form that post i assume that these ones were a mix...if they arent then what are they?

i know your telling me to be careful about breeding bunnies. it is my dad's responsibility. not mine. but i am the one who spent hours and hours on the internet looking how to breed, and take care of the babies properly. it wasn't hard trying to find them homes. the babies coming up are going to good homes. we've already planned a few homes for them. and if they all dont find homes, we'll get them fixed and keep them. i love them alot. so does my dad who doesn't live with anyone because i live with my mom. the rabbits are his company. (and the other animals)

ya but the way im seeing it is that you guys are kind of backyard bunny breeders and its not good i dont know how to make you understand its so frusterating! instead of breeding whyu dont you foster some bunnies it would make you feel alot better about yourselfs and your doing some good instead of bad

ok thank you. this is the last litter we are going to have anyway. we buy bunnies from auctions because we dont want them going to awful homes. we rescued a holland lop buck who's ears were cut half way off at the auction, and nursed him back to health. it's so awful what ppl can do to animals.

Why does that make it ok? I'm just wondering... why?
Did you know that a huge majority (I believe 80%) of homeless animals were bred by BYB's... people who just wanted to breed their pets for fun and give them away to who ever walked by and would pay $10? Seriously. Just having one or two litters DOES add massively to the population.. what if every family who had dogs/cats/bunnies (and most families do) has "one or two litters"? that makes millions and millions of litters ~ millions of animals without homes!
I fostered two Buns. They're super demanding little beasts and I don't recommend them to most people, especially those with kids who just want a playmate for their kids. Buns can be very shy because they're prey animals and often their fear leads to them nipping, kicking or being totally anti-social; most people have no idea how to solve that or help them, which is why sooo many are in rescue. Seriously, in the rescue I volunteered at they had dozens of Buns at any time, and most would stay there for months. Every shelter in the area has at least 20 buns, waiting for homes. It saddens me that because they're only breeding a few litters and only selling them for $10, that makes it OK. How do you know your babies won't end up at a similar auction? Or being euthanized in a shelter somewhere? I know you adopted out 2 to a friend, but what about the random "young girl"?... Seriously, breeding Bunnies just "for fun" is not FUN at all for the parents or for the poor babies. Spaying and Neutering Bunnies is HIGHLY recommended for pets because they live MUCH happier lives, they don't spray, they aren't constantly thinking about breeding. I believe that all Buns belong in the house with their people, and altered Bunnies make MUCH better house pets as they tend to not spray and are easily litter trained!
I totally agree with Buttercup. If you havent bred the 2nd litter yet ~ PLEASE don't!! Use that money to spay/neuter the Rabbits that you have now, and if you really want more, adopt or foster!

ok i got it already! i have already bred her. we will make sure this litter goes to homes that we know are good. the last litter the ppl signed contracts that said they will neuter them and we check up on them to make sure they did it.

I think Dab_20 has listened to the advice been given and taken it on board, so that something positive has come out of this thread, sometimes people just don't think about the consquences, and I think by the responses given here Dab_20 has learned something helpful and has taken some responsible actions, I say good on you, and learning from one's mistakes and not repeating them is what really counts for something in the long run.:)
