Maggie started acting strange yesterday afternoon. Not her
usual active self at all.She just moped around & didn't want to
play at all.She whines when she squatted to pee, so I assumed
she had a bladder infection.I took her to the Vet this morning &
she's had a shot & a RX of antibiotics to take.Poor baby really
acts to pitiful.:(

Last week it was Smokey with a ear infection & this week poor
Maggie.:( Smokey is doing much better, but Maggie could use
a little cheering up.I hope the meds kick in quick, it's much too
quiet around here.:(

ps. Maggie is now a whopping 76 lbs. :)

I hope she will be better soon, Liz! It's horrible to see them like that, isn't it?

Honey has to go to see Dr. Robinson, herself, this afternoon. I'm taking her to Scott's office, shortly, and he will take her over for her appointment. It's her ears. It is like overnight they got infected. She's shaking her head and when I rubbed her ears, I realized how bad they smell. Time for some meds, I guess. Poor girl. :(

Hope Smokey is all cleared up now and that Maggie will be better soon! :)

Poor Honey Bunny. :( :( :(

Scott took her to the vet for me this afternoon as I had duel obligations. Her ears (both of them) were horrible. :( Scott said she was scared out of her mind (she had to go to his office, first, then he took her.....I knew she was scared because I could hardly get her to go through the door). Anyway, he had to flush her ears, over and over, and told Scott that when he last saw her for an ear infection, it was in November, and I didn't bring her back for her recheck (I don't even remember this) and it is very possible that the infection never went away! :o

This is the danger of having too many pets to care for. You end up spending so much time and money at the vet's that something as simple as a recheck didn't even occur to me, although I'm sure he told me. She seemed better, finished her meds, and I never thought another thing about it, especially given all the problems I have had with Butter on a regular basis. She has been groomed and her ears have been cleaned by us, but until this morning, there were no symptoms (no smell, no shaking head). :( Scott said we have 4 different pills to give her, medication to squirt in her ears and a wash that we have to use. AND she will go back for a recheck in 10 days.

Oh I just feel horrible!!! :(

Poor Honey and poor you.:( Don't feel too bad Logan, Smokey's
ears were terrible too. You should have seen the gunk they got
out of his ears. He's still on the squirting solution 2x a week. I
felt like I'd let him down too because he hates getting it done &
it's a fight everytime I do it, I just end up putting it off & sometime forget about doing it. :o
What works for me with the recheck appts, is remembering to
write it down on my calender. I always check that each day.:)

Hope Honey is feeling much better soon.:)

Kay,

Maggie is built like a tank.:D Her body has grown larger than
Smokey & there's no fat on her.:D They are about the same
height but Smokey weights 65 lbs. I sometimes wish I new what
Maggie's parents looked like.

Thank you, Liz. I didn't mean to hijack your thread!!! :o

Honey is exhausted tonight. She had quite an ordeal today. Dr. Robinson told Scott that if the infection doesn't clear up in 10 days, he will have to sedate her and do a deep cleaning on her ears, and if infection persists, we will have to consider surgery like Murphy endured a couple of years ago to reroute her ear canal. I hope that it doesn't come to that! Poor baby.

Hope Maggie is feeling better! Smokey has Honey's complete sympathy.

Logan, YOU? A horrible mother? I think not! I'm sure that if you thought anything was wrong, you would have raced over to Dr R's right away, as you always do. You do an amazing job with all your human family and furkids and work and fostering and rescuing. Would I have given you a namesake if I thought you were horrible? You're my hero. You are incredible. I'm sure Honey-Pie will be fine. If she could have told you, she would have. You didn't notice any smell or problems earlier. You're doing what you have to do now. {Hugs} and kisses to you and Honey.

Liz.... smooches on Maggie and Smokey. Hope they're feeling better now too.
Thanks for the heads up, Liz. I hear that alot about females. I watch Logan (Klo) like a hawk. Does a bladder infection have anything to do with how often they pee? I swear, Klo goes 1 or 2x a day only. I'm used to Cody who went constantly. I can't believe how big Maggie got! Time flies! I hope she's feeling better with the meds, poor baby.

Well, Maggie has been on her meds long enough to make
a big difference. She was her old self again until yesterday
morning. I think she's gotten a bee sting on her lower belly.:(
Back to the Vets this morning & they prescribed Benadryl for
her. She's sleeping now, poor baby. It it's not one thing, it's
another.:(

Logan,

How is Honey doing? Hope her ears have all cleared up.

Geez, it is always something, isn't it, Liz??

Honey "seems" to be better, but I will have her back in on Friday to make sure. Dr. R doesn't work on Thursday, so I decided to wait until Friday to take her in. She's still taking her antibiotic and the Prednisone, and I'm continuing to put the Otomax in her ears two times/day. Hopefully he will say she is cleared up. She is definitely not shaking her head at all (until I put the Otomax in, of course).

Will keep you posted.
