I never post stuff like this, but my husband sent this to me this morning and asked that I post this here at PT. It's coming from one of his colleagues at work (we're in Northern CA, so please let me know if you're interested in this fella):

I am looking for a home for a purebred, papered Golden Retriever. He is 2 years old and his name is Rocky.
Rocky was rescued on the Hwy after he jumped out of the back of a pickup and was left for dead by his owner. He had a broken leg in 5 places and the vet tried to pin it but the leg would not heal properly so last Thursday it had to be amputated.. I spent the weekend with him and he acts like nothing ever happened considering his surgery was only a few days before I saw him. He has a great spirit to live and a wonderful loving personality. He is actively running around as if nothing happened. I am told by the vet that a 3 legged dog can do anything a normal dog can do.

He will need to stay are his temporary home for about another 3 weeks to monitor the healing is going ok. He is beautiful and just needs someone to love him.

He is currently not neutered but if you want him to be, it will be done free of charge before taking him home.
If there is ANYONE you know who might be interested, please let me know. I know he will make a great for someone's family.

Gosh, that's a really good idea joycenalex....why didn't I think of that! LOL
I'll go and search right now for a nearby rescue organization and then have my husband pass along the message to his co-worker....unless anyone else on PT is interested in this special needs boy!

**hugs**

How does the dog have papers if he was left for dead by the owner? There is no question this dog needs to be neutered before he goes to anyone whether they want it done or not, it needs to be done.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have them nueter this dog before he goes ANYWHER. PLEASE. I can just see it now... someone who looks and sounds responsible, comes along ad takes this dog for free. Breeds him, here comes a bunch of little money makers!

PLEASE have them nueter him.

And I was wondering the same, how does he have papers?
