Hi Richard:
This "irritating" and "annoying" individual would like a double BM please. Make it strong enough to take way the stress of the day. Thanks.

A toast to Mario and home sweet home where he belongs.

I have no good ideas for a drink of the day, but I'm about sick of html code right now, I have a headache and Terry's cranky.

But, on the other hand, this is my LAST week of school!!! I take my final next week and then I just wait for the diploma to show up in the mail - wooo hooo!!! :D And besides that, Terry's already gone to bed, I've got an adorable little orangie boy all snuggled up next to me and an adorable little snotty girl curled up in her box, just waiting for me to go to bed too.

So, after all that, I'll just slurp down my slushie, then head off to bed. I've got the accountant coming in tomorrow at 10:00 am and the new accounting software people coming in about 1:30 pm, so I might be rather scarce. I'll check in when I can but hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Oh, finally heard from my insurance company today. They want to make an appointment to come out and see the damage on my car....and take pictures. ;) :D

Good night all! :D

Mario is sleeping it off right now, he arrived yesterday with a whole slew of goodies (thanks Gini, for everything ;) ). He keeps getting emails and calls from "the friendly skies" and I refuse to accept collect calls so doG only knows what went on  . Let's stretch out and gleefully enjoy these last few Thursdays of the very strange summer of 2005. Some good, some bad.. lots of laughs and a bit of sad. All rolled up together. Makes my poor wee brain dizzy sometimes so thanks to all my friends that keep me balanced. Here's to YOU! *whatever this concoction is I'm drinking... I dunno, just found some leftovers in a pitcher*

4 months of Thursday's. No wonder I'm exhausted.

Banana daquiris sound wonderful. Its actually kind of cool and cloudy here right now, but its supposed to warm up this weekend back into the 90's.

I'm so glad that Mario is home, safe and sound. So good to know that he didn't cause any incidents at the airport this time. That sense of humor of his will get him into trouble one of these days.

Hi everyone!

After several wonderful cool rainy days, we are back in the sauna. Heat index heading to 110 again. At least it's only supposed to last a few days this time.

The cat kids need large iced catnip teas and I'm into large cherry limeades again. :D

Hi, Mario! What an adventure you had in CA and back, eh?
Grab your drinkie and tell me about it!;)

Oh, one of our regulars has a birthday on the 20th!
Think s....!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EARLY!:D

And we thought we knew why we fell down around here ;)

KANSAS CITY, KS—As the debate over the teaching of evolution in public schools continues, a new controversy over the science curriculum arose Monday in this embattled Midwestern state. Scientists from the Evangelical Center For Faith-Based Reasoning are now asserting that the long-held "theory of gravity" is flawed, and they have responded to it with a new theory of Intelligent Falling.

Things fall not because they are acted upon by some gravitational force, but because a higher intelligence, 'God' if you will, is pushing them down," said Gabriel Burdett, who holds degrees in education, applied Scripture, and physics from Oral Roberts University.

A DOTD please, and add a cold remidy to it! I *hate* summer colds. Everyone at the office is treating me like I'm cursed or something lol.

Well here's to my little blue pill car, who will be out of the shop and on the road TODAY (or so the mechanic says :p ) and here's another to rude people, may karma run over thier dogma!

Sigh, I'm a bit bitter today. Hoomans are really exhibiting the ability to be irritating.

Oh well, at least I can have fun and relax here!

Oh my, I guess that means Humpty Dumpty was pushed after all. :(

I'll take a quick bite of lunch and a slushie to go. Got a brief break before the software people show up.

Laurie, maybe that's why Mario's plane lost a few thousand feet of altitude as it flew over Kansas? ;)

lbaker
08-18-2005, 01:43 PM
:D :D I just hope losing altitude like that didn't make him "upchuck" all over the pretty little flight attendent he was flirting with :p

I've been working WAY too much and haven't had time to join in the fun, except to take a peek every now and again. Danged lawyers!

Question: Did the real live Mario actually get on a plane or is this the stuffie that visited Gini's that was being shipped somewhere or is this just a Thursdays' story and everything is cyber - the real Mario is safe and sound with his mommy, etc.

Obviously, I've missed some posts and am so confuzzled! Bartender, please pour me whatever the DOTD is.

Moff enters singing:
TOMORROW IS SLICK'S BIRTHDAY!!!!

Happy birthday tomorrow slick. I couldn't wait and started you a bd thread. Your drinks are on me today! I hope you have a great time on your bd.

Redhedd, the living breathing Mario was tucked safely in his bed last I heard. His mommy answered a thread by Gini. The one who travels is either the cyber one or the stuffed one. I'm not real sure myself which one it is in this case. :D

Laurie, I am glad that little devil arrived home safely. He insisted that everything that was in his luggage belonged to HIM - and he was taking it all home!!

You might want to keep an eye on him because he called me in the middle of the night and asked me to Fedex his address book. Seems he left it here. I found it - and lordy - look out girls - he has everyones phone number with little comments beside each name. I blushed as I read the comments. He even had something to say about Richard. (cannot be printed here).

SLICK - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - a round of drinks for everyone and then let's stop and toast on of our dearest members and a dear friend.

Not sure if Sara will stop by the bar - but we will want to toast her too - her birthday is on Sunday.

Phone is ringing - oh good grief - it is United Airlines .............Mario must have done something!:D

Well....you know me.... not one much for bars and drinking.....

Last week we went to a restaurant in Laguna Beach. Seems martinis are their speciality. They also had chocolate souffle. Such a decision.

I had a chocolate martini for dessert. Vanilla vodka, white chocolate liquor and dusted with powdered cocoa!

Oh my!

(Good thing as the next morning was my 17 hour cross-country trip.... )

Hi again everyone! I got some good (sort of) news from the Doctor yesterday...well better news than I thought I was going to get anyhow. My blood tests say that my sugar count is elevated. I have to go back on Monday and take another blood test (I've changed my diet signifigantly since the last test), and if my sugar count has gone down then the Doctor says so long as I watch my diet, I can control my blood sugar without medication. If it hasn't gone down though, I'll have to take pills but my sugar isn't high enough to require insulin injections. The doctor is hesitant to put me on pills because I'm on the low end of being diabetic and if I don't watch myself very carefully I'll go into insulin shock. If on the pills, Id have to test my sugar myself 2 or 3 times a day, more if I feel symptoms of low blood sugar. The doctor seemed upset to tell me that I might have to take pills, I was just happy that I didn't need insulin injections! I'm glad to catch this early, if I hadn't, I would need a lot more extensive care later on in life. The blood test also said that my liver function is down and I have high iron. The iron part Ive known about all my life, my brother and my dad both have high iron too. I knew about my liver being off too, due to an overdose 4 years ago. The doctor said though, an improved diet may help my liver too and he wants to re-test that as well. If things haven't improved though, he wants me in for an ultrasound to make sure things are all ok. That part scares me. If they find anything "wierd" I might have to go in for surgery...I've never had surgery of any type before (except stiches). Hopefully though, things will be good and I won't even need an ultrasound.

Well thats my medical uppydate lol. This semi-good news deserves a drink. At least here, I don't have to worry about my sugar ;)

Dear MOFF....just couldn't keep that mouth shut could you????;) :D Just kidding my friend......thanks for the thread you started. {{{hugs}}}

I've got a really busy day here today so can't stop long. Just wanted to say HI to everyone and DJF, good news. I'm in the same boat and test my blood sugar about 4 times a week. I've been warned also and doing my best to eat properly and improve my health.

Drinks for everyone and I'll try to check back later today.

Edit: I've just put in my $2.00 for this weekend's lottery. 14 million. Wish me luck! :)

Happy Birthday Slickster.

Happy Birthday Sarah.

Ladies, how does 28 feel???

Spaking of beer, Liz and Oggy...Last week I was at the butcher's counter and asked one of the guys what kinda beer was good for today.......

He gave me the name of a Mexican ale called Negra Modelo (Black Model) It is delicious, When you take a drink it you only taste it on your tongue...DUH!!!

It's hard to explain....after you take a drink the flavor sticks to your tongue. It's really bizarre but a great tasting beer....

I have to run...talk to you all later on..
