heartbeat, heartbeat, heartbeat, heartbeat, heartbeat..
nervous, nervous, nervous, nervous, nervous..
worry, worry, worry, worry, and worry..

on august the seventeenth, four of my sweet kittenagers (boys - gus, ?, dante & ashton) and their mother (star) are going in for neuter & spay. all of them in the same morning.. :(

for almost a year, I worked as a vet assistant/surgery prep before and have helped with many this kind of surgery, six purrfectly healthy felines just died on their own. it just happened sometimes. I'm really worried, I asked them if I could stay in the surgeryroom and watch...because I understand and am aware with surgery policy, what to not do, etc., ..they said no. :(

I understand these are not your cats or love them as much as I do but as typing this, I'm already in tears! they ALL meant so much to me and I can not lose one of them, god forbids!

for that day coming, I would really need your hugs(thoughts/support). :) my heart just won't stop bleed.. not until august the eighteenth if every of my fuzzydear is allright!! :( sometimes it's bad to have a big heart. argh.

thanks!!

:( an update..

it's not five, SIX cats. I took a stomatitis cat, peppers along with five others. yesterday, the coast vet office (my old long-time one, about an hour away) changed their mind and called me that they could take in peppers, she has a really bad gingivo, LPGS (lymphocytic-plasmaytic gingivitis stomatitis). so I cancelled the local vet because I preferred the coast one.

we discussed about laser therapy/extraction. we tried clindamyin (general anti-rode) last year in one plan, 5x/monthly twice, but gingivo just keeps coming back. this past january, we gave her methylprednisoline (sp?) injections, (like depomedrol drops) one each four weeks. it didn't helped either! :( then.....we would want to try a stronger prescription, bovine lacofferin but I did a research and it only succeed from the percentage of 20-25% and it's the expensiver treatment the cat gets. it's mostly is for the cats who has bartonella but peppy's test came out negative on that.

and, when I got back froom two weeks camping, my gosh.. her mouth is much, much worse! it made me cry. and SO frustrating.

today, I'm so glad, it's the day today...I requested if they could have her evil teeth removal asap, they said they can do it today! so she'd get out of pain sooner!!!! I just can't wait..

half of my cats are not with me now.. :( I won't see them until 6PM. (it's 10AM here right now). they trusted me, they got excitied getting in these cages...and I've just bought them to h***. now they will hate the cages and me.

-(drains)- :( please, please spare a few thoughts altogether, thank you.

oh gee, sorry lighting supercat!

I have 9 cages total, 3 really big. I put boys in two medium cages, two each. star's in her small one, she gets hot easily. and peppers in small one too so that's four cages total and two trips from home to the car. then car to the office. that happens when you have an ark! ;) :)

oh one more, ..at least crayola is with me - he says, "mommy- you can hug me all you want!"

they said.. everyone (include peppy)'s done & fine!!!!! just all groggy and still "asleep".

oh here come tears..joy joy! :D :D they won't be ready being picked up until 4PM. I have two and half more hours to go!! ..to a miserable night. :) hope not all of them would be grumpy and in weeny-bit pain.

(thank you, furrymother!! I'm glad someone understood me). :)

this just is a mess..

because I didn't feel I've got enough supports, I didn't really want to say what happened but at the same time, didn't want to worry you. I will finish what I started. I'm sorry I asked.

here's what happened - when I picked them up, I see they have notched all of my five furkids' left ears. I got really upsetted/angry because I wrote down clearly and requested they are strcitly indoor cats and do not need another rabies shot or have their ears chipped off. but they did, the nurse forgot to hand that paper to the doctor! but what were they thinking anyway??? (!!!) arrgh, I mean, they were purrfectly healthy, soo sweet and I've been bringing them in for check ups so much. not like I would throw them back outside.. :(

that was not the only thing. in the car before we were ready to leave for an hour driving, I took every of them out to say hi and hug them. you know, they need mothersely hugs after all this truama.. chance, (name changed from dante) was the only cat.. *sniffles* ..not moving. I grabbed him and ran back into hospital. because I couldn't speak and had chance in my hands, I couldn't really say anything. it finally took them a few seconds to look at CHANCE instead of staring at this crazy woman who sobbed her head off.

meanwhile they took him in, I wrote down, asked WHY did they did that.. the chance's nurse came back out and shaked her head.. asked other nurse to write down what she said.. "I'm sorry, I don't think he's going to make it......" I ran outside quickly, hate to have them see me crying. that was when I posted the last above. then found out he was still alive and had to stay overnight in ICU. at home now, I've been walking in circles, don't know what to do or when to call in again. I dread to hear something else awful. I'm still not sre what happened, must be from surgery complications.

right now, three boys star are giving me a hard time, they won't eat their breakfast this morning, they just sit still forever wherever I move them. :( and this morning was the first morning without their loud purrings. their ears are really painful too. they tried drinking some water but their heads got up and cocked to left side, had their eyes squished. I think it's because of blood pressure when they put their head down. :( :(

I guess that would be all for now. I'm gonna try make new picture threads to keep things off my mind - enough ttears.

thank you alice for the hug & a giggle.

Oh my.... I am so sorry that you are going through this. I am primarily a "lurker" on PT.... but I have posted in the past. But I watch and read, and feel everyone's pain and sorrow. Right now, I am crying, as I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers... and even ::::: hug:::: are coming your way as fast as I can send it. I wish that there was something more I could do. My kitties Sasha and Tabitha send their best thoughts and prayers also. Keep the faith. Donna

Sounds like a horrible mess and they were all released too early. I'm not familiar with the ear thing. Why do they cut their ears, especially without your knowlege? I hope they get better. If not, I would take them all back and insist they be taken care of properly. Poor kitties. It's not your fault but I know you feel badly about it. Try not to feel guilty, though.

sandragonfly

dukedogsmom, they notch all the feral cats so the next time they catch this cat, they will know they have been fixed, to avoid an extra pain for them too.

but..mine weren't ferals. and what's the worse, they cut it HALF off. HALF?! oh god, that's ...that's more than just a nick. I can't believe I have five one-eared cats now, things just seem so unreal.

it breaks my heart looking at them or their two-eared pictures now. :( it's so hard to not feel guilty. I should have pushed them, make sure they wouldn't do that, twice. or call them every hour to remind to not do them.

donna, you're a lurker, I guess that's special. :) you're right, maybe all this was for the best. thank you!

Gina, please do not feel guilty it is not your fault. Your babies are still beautiful and sweet and special. I hope that they will return to their normal routines shortly and that their ears will be feeling better. Continued prayers that Chance is doing better and will be able to come home to you soon.

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I think I'm going crazy. chance can't come home tonight..

I've finally asked them on phone of what happened.

the nurse who answered said she's not sure and will have to ask the vet who did him yesterday and won't be in until this saturday!

I really want to know.. *crying* I tried their meals just recently, still too painful. I won't sleep. :( :(

Gina, I am still new to Pt, but even so it is obvious you love and take good care of your animal companions. It is horrible when something is out of our control that affects those we love... but try to be gentle with yourself while you go through this with them. They need you to be ok. Crying isn't bad..it shows you still have a heart. Know you and your cats are thought o with love...

I am hoping all the best for you all. Take care of you too.

Oh that is SO sad!!! :( What kind of vet's office FORGETS to hand in papers!!! Thet just made me so annoyed!! And why did they cut HALF thier ear off?????? Aren't they just supposed to nick the ear??? I'm soory, I'm just annoyed. I am praying hard for Chance and you. This must be terrible!!! ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) for you, lots of prayers. I'm just getting more & more upset. when will all of this stop? :( now two boys has eartip infection. I see enough of dry blood droplets from eartip to inside ear/down to the head. it even hurt them when I tried to pet their head, in middle lightly. I will need to order some antibodies creme for their ears...sigh.

I just called the vet office, to check on chance - he's ready to be picked up...I'm really not that hopeful anymore. :( things still seem so unreal. can you imagine having your child with an amputated leg just because the doctor forgot to check the approval form? ugh.

thank you for your thoughtful comments. I was so alone in the dark and this just helps very much.

Gina, I'm sorry you're going through so much right now. Why did they think your cats were ferals, anyway? Did they offer to give any of the money back since they did things without permission or without knowing the kitty's situations (being indoors)?

chance is picked up! poor my little angel.. he doesn't feel too good and doesn't want to open his eyes..that makes me wanna cry. I picked him up to hold him, he just acts like a boneless doll, all floppy and very weak. :(

I asked the another nurse what happened!? said, they think they have put too much antesia in him. and then his heart just stopped for some reason when I ran him back in. they really don't know and that it rarely happens. :( I worked at the vet, this answer they gave me never really happened, just only at the moment of the surgery but this was like a couple hours later. the reason's remained unknown. :( I wish I were there, so I'd know! now. I'm gonna still ask the vet this saturday.

at the same time picking chance up, they gave me free antibodic creams for two infected earlads.

*SIGH*....everyone is home now. hope all of us sleep better tonight.

finn's mom, they were chipped off because the feral vouchers I used required to. because I found them, I used vouchers so I wouldn't have to pay for spay/neuters. five is lotsa!!

BUT the thing is, I never knew the vouchers were REQUIRED to have their ear chipped off. all of this just makes me so angry. I DID had a talk with the nurse, and asked her if I could request to not have their ears chipped off before I dropped them in. the nurse said "sure, we can do that. yep." I gave her a "are you sure?" nod. she nodded again, yes. she and all vets know my ark so well.

then she forgot to hand in my request. but I found out it doesn't matter now. after got home with the boys, I emailed an angry email to the vet who chipped their ears off and asked why anyway. vet knew my kitties so well, plus a year ago, he did my shaddow, spayed her without nicking her ear so that got me all confused. he emailed me back and said they were required to anyway, with or without my request. because about a couple of months ago he got a warning letter if they don't do nick ear part, the county voucher wouldn't reimburse the all costs.

I got more upset, GOD..WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT??? or at least inform me?   if I knew all about this, I wouldn't have used these stupood vouchers at all and will be glad to pay for the whole thing!! even I don't have any pennies in my bank right now. they were not thinking or even sorry.. :(
