I got an email from someone interested in Angel.

Here's their email:
I called the number on the one by one website and didn't get a call back. I was wondering if you could tell me, on petfinder under angle eyes there are 3 pictures. The first pic. looks like one cat and the 2nd & 3rd picture looks like a different cat. The cat in the 2nd & 3rd pic. looks like it has longer hair. Which one is angle eyes? I like the kitten in pic 2 & 3. Is this cat available? Please let me know. Thanks, christy

Here's Angels' Petfinder listing:
Angel Petfinder (http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=4552065&adTarget=&SessionID=42fe57ca4094a9f2-app3&display=&preview=0&row=100&tmpl=&stat=)

See a different cat

Here's my reply. I worked HARD on what to say:
Hi Christy, I am her foster mom.

The first photo (without the cast) is Angels Eyes and its the most recent photo. The other two are also her - much older pictures. She had a cast on her leg for two months, which forced her right paw into an unnatural scrunched postition, and unfortunately her paw is now not shaped properly. Her nails don't retract. As she recovers to being without the cast, it looks as if they never will. If you have children, this might become an issue because her nails get me often by mistake. I trim them as much as I can, but since her nails are sticking out, they're going to get you. We do NOT declaw. It is policy of One by One that our cats remain clawed their whole lives.

She is painfully thin due to a bout with chronic diarreah. All her tests with the vet have come back normal, so we're thinking its food allergy. So far, she is responiding a little to the prescription food and if she does, she'll have to remain on prescription food her whole life. She will not be available for adoption until her diarreah is completely under control and we determine what exactly is causing it. It could be weeks yet until that happens.

I have to be honest. She is not for someone merely looking for a cute and cuddly kitten. She's moving quickly out of kitten stage and into adult cat - she's already 5 months old. She will most likely have lifelong issues and will need someone willing and ready to provide her with vetinary care and proper food. It will not be inexpensive.

I hope I don't sound cross or short. I have just been through so much with Angels Eyes. She has ripped my heart out a hundred times. I have force fed her when she wouldn't eat and shoved one more dose of medicine into her than any other human dare do. I want to make sure that this little life goes to someone willing to love and care for her the way she needs and deserves to be loved.

Thank you for inquiring,
Kim

God, this is ripping my heart out. I will be able to let her go IF I know she is going to a GOOD home (ok, PERFECT would be more honest). How STUPID can people be to not want the lanky Angel, and only the fuzz-butt Angel. I didn't even waste my time with sending them a more recent photo. IF they respond to the above email I'll be surprised. Who knows, I might be completely off-base here, but I doubt it.

I AGREE,WITH YOU,WHOLE HEARTEDLY ,KIM.
THIS OBSESSION,WITH KITTENS,IS WAHT IS CAUSING,PERFECTLY GOOD CATS,TO BE ABANDONED.
I WISH,I HAD A NICKEL,FOR EVERYTIME,THAT I GO,INTO AN ADOPTION CENTRE,AND THERE ARE CATS,A YEAR,AND A HALF,TO TWO YEARS OLD,THERE,BECAUSE,THEY ARE NO LONGER CUTE KITTENS.
WHEN I,AND I THINK,MOST,OF THE GOOD PEOPLE,ON THIS THREAD,TAKE A PET,ITS FOR LIFE,AS THEY SAY,IN THE MARRIAGE VOWS,THROGH,THE GOOD,AND THE BAD,AND IN SICKNESS,AND IN HEALTH.

My first red flag was when she spelled Angel, Angle!!! Get the cat's name right!!!

You responded quite well, Kim.

I know it has to rip your heart out to see people like this interested in your babies.

I once had a foster-cat for for 15 years.... somehow no home was quite right. Never regretted it.

I know all about keeping long temr fosters. We have Abby and Harry who were initially fosters.... never did ever get around to signing those adoption papers. I have Minette who happily lives a single life in my daughter's room, who as been here since January and isn't going to be leaving any day soon.... especially since she will never go to another adoption events. So yup.... I know all about those long term fosters! :D I am probably PTs biggest failure as a foster mom. Oh well, they did all find great homes - mine!

LOL KIM!!! You are right, they all did find a wonderful home!!:D :D :D

As you know Opie is my first foster and I know you can't wait for me to admit failure.;) I refuse to admit it just yet but I can't imagine a home good enough for this little boy!

I don't think you will get a response from the person who sent the email. Your reply was great and I especially loved the way you pointed out all the "life long bad stuff" about her.;) Making sure nobody wants her?:p ;)
Just kidding!
Anyone who is really interested in her needs to know everything so they make a true informed decision. I doubt you will hear anything so Angel just may be sticking around for awhile longer. YIPPEE!!!!:D

btw- I loved her sweet picture! Crazy people!!!

I can't believe they thought she was a different cat than the first two pictures! Uh.... the other pictures were from when she was 9 weeks old! She 5 months old now!

PS: Jen changed the photo for me on Petfinder, so now we have one from the other day included. I had to write somethign across Abby's face so people don't want her too!

I think this person inquiring about "Angle" Eyes is very young considering her/his skills at spelling etc. Probably a bored child using the computer while parents are at work. Glad your response was geared at throwing this person off! ;) Fail fostering again! Angel Eyes is deserving of only the best home. ;) Yours

Oh Kim, you make me want her more and more. :(

I promised I wouldn't say anything about your "fosters" so I won't but after reading that email you don't sound like you would give her over to anyone. Guess I won't have to say anything to talk you in to keeping them! ;)

So you are a failure at fostering, if you are going to do something do it well! Bat 1000 here, keep them all!!!!! :D

Hmmm... I am not about to hand her over to just anyone; however, I'd gladly hand her over to the Jazzcat household! :D ;) (hint hint)
