My dad's cat, Kitty, is sick again. In June she was very ill, throwing up, not eating or drinking, not acting like her self. We took her to the vet, he seemed to think that she might have gotten a hold of a frog or lizard. And that was why she was sick. They gave her a steriod shot, and within a couple of days she was feeling better. My dad called me last night and said that she has started throwing up again. This morning he said that she was hiding out in the corner of the living room.(not like her at all - always my dad's shadow) He brought her some water, she drank for a long time, but he said it looked like she was having problems swallowing. He also told me that she hasn't really been eating that much. I called and made an appointment with my vet (Thursday morning - Only time my dad can get her down to the vet) I was just wondering if anyone might have any idea what is wrong with her? I hope it is nothing to serious, don't what I would do with my Dad if Kitty is very sick. Don't know if he could handle it. She is his best friend. Any idea's or prayers for Kitty and my dad are welcome.

I am sorry to hear this. I hate it when our furkids are sick. I am assuming that she has had all of her shots? It could be as simple as hairballs, But then again I would need more info about her to be able to offer more assistance. But you did the right thing by calling the Dr. Keep me posted and I'll help as much as I can.

My dad doesn't think it is hairballs. Kitty is a long haired cat, she gets hairballs every once in a while. My dad said that is a clear yellow tinted liquid. She is 8 yrs old, has all she shots, never had a problem before this past June. Guess we will find out on Thursday. I told him if she looks like she is getting worse, to let me know, I will bring her into the emergency hospital. Hope it doesn't come to that. My poor Kitty!:(

Doesnt sound to good. I'm thinking yellow stuff might be bile or somekind of infection.
If you could take her sooner to the vet, I would highly recommend doing so if not get kitty to ER vet.

I heard from my dad this morning, he said Kitty has not thrown up anymore & is acting like her self again:) . I told him that we are still taking her to the vet tomorrow morning to have her checked out. I don't want to take any chances. Hopefully she will be a good girl and not bite to vet again!

Glad Kitty is feeling and acting better, but I agree a trip to the vet to confirm everythings OK is a good idea. Let us know and good luck!

Kitty was very good at the vet's this morning. He thinks that she is starting to develop a sensitive tummy. So she got a shot to calm her tummy and sent us home with 3 days of pills (That will be fun!) He said that the pills are like antacids. And we start her on different food, called ID. If she gets sick again, they will have to keep her for a few days and run some more tests:( . Hopefully we won't have to do that. Kitty must be feeling better - my called when he got hom and said that she was a "pleasure" in the car.:D She is running around the house and has resumed the title of "Dad's shadow" again. Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks for the update! Glad Kitty is feeling better and has resumed her job as the "shadow". Hope the pills help and that the new food will keep her tummy under control.

Glad to read everything went well at the vet trip today.
Hopefully, the new food and pills will do the trick.
