You should definitely show Samantha in a local cat show. Look for an ACFA show in your area. They have a lot of fun with household pets. I've shown HHP's before (see cat of the day December 14, 2000 Casper) and they've done very well. Samantha has a unique look and if her personality is good she may do very well. The judges like cats that are very friendly and that like to play.

I just want to welcome you to Pet Talk. There are lots of really nice people here. I think you will like it. There was all ready a thread started for Samantha and I posted to that one before I saw yours. That's ok. I was new only two weeks ago and know how confusing it can get. It's lots of fun though. Again a big WELCOME!

Thanks for the welcome. I was trying to figure out how to use this since I don't usually chat online so I just did a new thread. Any suggestions or pointers to use this would be greatly appreciated.

Me again, Sue. I'm still learning too but here's a few pointers. Click on New Thread when you want to start a complete new subject. Click post reply when you want to reply to the one you are reading. If you go to the f.a.q. button along the top you can find out all kinds of things like how to add smilies :) and colors . There is a way to even make the print a different size. I have not done that yet. I've been too busy reading and replying to posts.
Hope this helps. Have fun. Welcom again.

Thanks for the tips. I had wanted to give some suggestions to Samantha's "mom" about cat shows since she seemed interested in showing her as a household pet. I belong to a CFA cat club in the twin cities and have experience with both purebreds and hhp's in shows. That's why I didn't hit the reply button. How's the weather in Kansas? It's gotten a little colder here (now that spring is just around the corner) and we're having snow today. I guess March will come in as a lion!

You can reply to the other Samantha thread if you want to give your tips to Sams owner. :) I think they may read this thread too but don't know.
Kansas is awful cold today. The wind is brutal. No snow here yet. The temp is about 14 but wind chill is somewhere below zero. Tonight should be rough. My old house has the wind whistling through every crack and crany. I guess the groundhog knew his stuff this year. :D

Ha! I have an old house too (1860's). I know what you mean about the wind. I'm on a hill in Stillwater, which is right on the St. Croix River between WI and MN. The windows upstairs are original and the storm windows leave a lot to be desired. At least most of this winter has been mild! We just have to get through March. Although I would imagine Spring arrives in Kansas sooner than in Minnesota!

Samantha, your markings really are wonderfully special! Good luck to both you and your Mommy if you do try a show! We are all in full agreement that you will do well! Sometimes many shows have too many similar cats (same breed) - you will really be a show stopper! It is very nice to "meet" you. All of us at CatHappy.com send along congratulations for your being selected as today's Special Cat!

the very best Pet Talk bb you'll ever find. Pet Talk is a

P.S. The weather here is as brutal as it sounds where
you guys are.We had horizontal rain last night which
turned to ice & snow overnight and my back stormdoor
froze solid... Wish Spring would hurry up !!!
