Well, I found out why Albert has lost so much weight, but his appetite remained basically the same. Over the weekend,we flew from Hurricane Dennis to Tallahassee, where my sister attends school. Albert is her cat, but had to stay with us b/c her apt complex doesn't allow pets. So, since I was going to get him checked out at home, I decided to do it there, at his original hospital, weather permitting. My sister was so happy to see Albert. Initially, I meant to take him by myself, but my mom wanted to go too. So, unfortunately, when the doctor told me the results from the leukemia (negative) and FIV (positive), the door was ajar, and when I came out, my mom was crying and my sister was too. It was a tough day.
I wish there was some way for us to know if he had this already or just because he got bit from a cat that had it.
Every day I look at him now,it feels a little different. Does anyone else have FIV cats? What kinds of meds are they on? Are they expensive and/or effective, and if they're effective, what are they effective for?
