Our most precious little Sasha went to Rainbow's Bridge today at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
We are sure that Bobby the dog, Tiggy, Paddy-Paws and Princess were overjoyed to greet her.
Our hearts are shattered; our precious little one is gone from us.
Thank you all for your kindness, your support and for loving our darling Sasha.

Sasha was an abandoned kitty who cried all of the long, cold Montreal Winter of 1995. I searched and called but could not find her. Then in May of 1995 she heard me talking to a neighbour and came bounding across the street! I was so frightened--she could have been hit by a car.
Sasha jumped on my lap, gave me her lovely pussycat smile and started to purr. I was in love. July 18th that year Sasha had five beautiful kittens. We, with a neighbour, took care of her. She "boarded" with her babies at the neighbour's home. The neighbour built a safe place under the balcony for them and I fed her and got medical attention for Sasha & her babies. Later I found forever homes for her five kittens; when they were 8 weeks old, they went to forever homes. The neighbour and I shared Sasha; I had a key to her garage where Sasha slept at night in the laundy room. The Winter of 1995-96 she stayed indoors in the laundry room.
That January I had pneumonia and Murray went over every morning and night to feed her and spend time with her. He fell in love. These living arrangements worked fine right up until June 1996 when some bratty boys tried to steal her. That was when I realized my husband, Murray was 'in love' with her. He brought her into the house and said "that's it; she's an inside kitty now!"

And a Well-Loved, inside, Kitty she was!
Rest In Peace, Dear Sasha ...
Maw-Maw & Paw-Paw will meet up with you at the Bridge.

Susan, You and Murray are two of the most devoted and best people Sasha could have ever chosen to be her purrents. She was a genius. She knew just what she had to do to wrap you around her velvet paw. She could not have had a better and more loving family and she knew she was blessed. She blessed your lives as well. How could she not? All you have to do is look at her and know how special she was and is. You gave her a wonderful life. Sasha will now look over you from Rainbow Bridge and be your kitty angel. One sweet day you will once again hold that gorgeous calico queen.
R.I.P Sasha the Calico Queen. You have fun at RB and one sweet day you will be with your Katma and Pawpaw again. Play and enjoy your time with Bobby the dog, Tiggy, Paddy-Paws and Princess.
You are loved and missed Sasha.
You have left a mark on many people here at PT and we promise we will never forget you angel.

Susan and Murray, my heart breaks for you. I know how much she meant to you and came to mean to all of us here. She was a beautiful girl and I can only hope and pray that she is at peace now and playing, once again Healthy at the Rainbow Bridge. I hope she had an easy crossing and that her last days with you were filled with beautiful memories. I wish I had the words to ease your pain, but there are none. Just remember all the wonderful times you shared and know that she is watching over you and that she is free from pain.
RIP Sweet Sasha, you will be terribly missed by all!

Dear Susan and Murray, I just read about Sasha, and there are no words that can express my sorrow for your great loss. Sasha fought a good fight and you were there for her at every moment. You know she knew that and loved you even more for that. I enjoyed " her " messages and seeing her photos. After this post, I will go to www.rainbowsbridge.com and "light " a candle for her in the Candle Vigil Room(look under New Beginnings). Sending you lots of love and support. With much love,

It's so hard to type through all the tears.
Sasha, my sweet little friend, you sure left your dainty paw prints all over my heart. I'll be asking God every morning during prayers from now on, to be sure to give you lots of hugs, cuddles and kisses. You'll meet lots of my babies there, I'm sure. Don't believe everything they tell you about me, ok?
I'll be sure to give you a hug, cuddle and kiss myself someday, if you will allow. For now, you fought so long and hard, you deserve some rest and peace. Just know you will be missed forever here.
Susan and Murry, I know your hearts are breaking at the departure of your sweet girl. You know she was special to have touched so many of us. Please take a little comfort in knowing she is in no pain now.

Our darling Sasha and her siblings at R.B. are, we're sure, touched by the love and caring given to her from all of the pets and people in this Forum.
Murray and I are amazed at the kindness of people who are linked to each other through their darling and very precious pets. It comforts us so much.
September 2nd is our 15th wedding anniversary. This past week would have been a vacation break but with our darling so ill, who could go on vacation? However, last night we had planned a nice dinner out -- and Sasha's veterinarian, Dr. Azuelos told us that Sasha would want us to keep our plan. We took her advice and did that. And on September 2nd we will raise a glass and toast our darlings: Sasha, Princess, Tiggy, Bobby the Dog, Paddy-Paws and Chuckie the Dog -- our sweet pets at R.B. who will toast us back with catnip and doggie bones.
I will post some of the last photos of Sasha -- one in sepia which is so lovely -- as well as others of her outside with us and her Auntie Myra.
We like these quotes as they express the very same sentiments we wish these special pets:
NoahsMommy said: God, please keep sweet Halo comfortable and take her pain and illness away. Please also help heal Sunny and Thumper soon. Please also be with Onyx and help her eyes heal. And...be with Lucas and help the whitecoats figure out what's bothering his tummy. Thank you!!
Kittycats_delight said: Lots of extra love and healing thoughts for our Kelly's speedy recovery to a new pain-free life. We love you sweetie !!!
Many healing vibes and good thoughts for Onyx, Sasha, Lucas, Flutter, Angel Eyes, Puddy, Toby, Halo, Thumper and all our other PT Furbabies that are not feeling well. We love you little ones. Get Well !!!!

Oh my gosh, I am so saddened to learn of Sasha's departure to RB.:( She put up such a valiant effort to try and overcome her illness. Your tender, loving care made it worthwhile for her to fight with all she could . . . I know every moment spent together with you both will forever be etched in her spirit, as well as yours.
My heartfelt condolences to you both. Sasha will now enjoy health and happiness at the Rainbow Bridge, and if she encounters Meeshe he may be reminded of his tortie sister Muskrat that he misses dearly, and take her under his wing. Here's hoping the two of them will bond and sustain each other. Blessings and wishes for eternal peace, brave Sasha.

Goodbye, sweet Sasha. I know it was time for you to journey on to the delights of the Rainbow Bridge. You stayed as long as you could to help Susan and Murray with the separation process. You gave them your *good days* as your last gift of so many gifts of love you bestowed on them over the years.
Sasha, I am so thankful that you were able to dictate your thoughts and communicate with us through your KatMaw. Some pet parents are wonderful people, but don't have the ability to take dictation. I am so glad that your mom was one of those with that special ability to *channel*. Your charming and disarming thoughts and observations have blessed so many of our days. Through her we knew you, the real you! Yet the double edge sword of loving you means now losing you. Goodbye, sweet Sasha. Remember those here who were so very fond of you.

RUGRAT, Sasha's Kitten -- An update on Sasha, The Queen Calico's story...
We loved Sasha dearly and miss her very much. Sasha's 5 Kittens were born on the 18th of July 1995 in the City of Monreal, Quebec, Canada.
We named them: Carmel, Licorice, White Nose, Black Nose and Rugrat.
Carmel lives with his his family which includes two other cats. His humans are acquaintances so we do hear how he is doing, mainly through the exchange of cards during the Christmas -- Hanukkah holiday season.
Licorice, White Nose and Black Nose: they were placed into forever homes though a third party recommended by our veterinarian, the late, wonderful Dr. Dan Urtnowsky whom I dubbed TBC (The Big Chief). We never knew who adopted them.
Rugrat was a very cute Brindled Calico kitten who grew into a gorgeous cat. Like Carmel, she was adopted by people we trust and know. In fact, her human Mamma, Linda, is a good friend.
Rugrat passed away today, at home, the place where she was loved and that she loved. Rugrat took a turn for the worse; most likely died of a heart attack.
Rugrat's wonderful boxer dog, Chef and cat sibling, Merlin will comfort her human family and help them though the pain of her loss.
RIP, darling Rugrat b. 18th July 1995 d. 9th April 2011
Play well at Rainbow Bridge...your Mamma Cat, Sasha is there, overjoyed to have her kitten back! And your kitty sister, Beauty is there for you too.
Ode to Rugrat

You stole Daniels' heart all those years ago
And went to live with Daniel, Beauty, Linda and Morrie.
Lucky you! A loving family with good hearts.
I loved you, dear Rugrat
and played with you during your kitten time

Sasha was my darling and is always in my heart

We called her Rugrat but when Daniel (son of Linda & Morrie) was a little one under the age of 10, he had chosen "Chicklet" as the name of his baby kitten. However, he found Rugrat suited her so kept the name. Rugrat had a lovely brindled calico sister, Beauty and is survived by her two other siblings, gorgeous boxer named Chef and Merlin, the =^..^=
We all feel Sasha, Beauty and all of the darling pets of our lives are having a big party at Rainbow Bridge, and the star of the event is RUGRAT:love:

I didn't know of Rugrat or Sasha but I am sorry to hear of their passing. I know Sasha has greeted and befriended RugRat at the bridge.
No matter how many years pass they will always own a piece of our heart and as a result they will never be forgotten.
The Rainbow Bridge - how many times I have envisioned what it must be like - so full of joy.
May Sasha and Rugrat and all your other beloved pets be together and extremely happy forever.
