Hello all,
I am new to these boards and don't want to offend anyone, but I saw something this past week that has me very upset. :( :( :(
I saw a kitty that had been declawed. It's paws, front and back, were so mutilated the poor thing could hardly walk! I asked who the vet was in a very nice way (by this time I was near tears) and the owner told me. When I got home I called my vet and asked the appropriate questions. He gave me the right answers. I then called and reported the vet that did the proceedure to the Humane Society. This was not the first time they had been called! At least I have done my part and reported him.
Hug your Kitties,
Sandie

What a terrible thing, I hate to hear of things like this, but thank you for finding out what you could and reporting the monster who did this!

By the way, welcome to PT!!!

Bless you for reporting that! What a horrible thing

P.S. I live in the same area as you!

First: I promise NEVER to do it again!

Both on my two old pals had the fronts done. The vet that did it was very good.

So:

(1) Talk all owners out of doing it in the frist place.
(2) Report all the hacks to the HS and any veterany board that you have in your county, parish, state, province, whatever.

I want every one to know from the beginning that my kitten is front declawed. He came to me that way. I got him at the Humane Society and he had been abandoned. However, his feet look great and he has no trouble with them. He was done very young because I got him at 12 weeks old. I had to sign a paper that I would never let him out. I don't know his background. He is very, very tame.

I just know this will come up some time and I want people to know now.

Samuel is a very protected kitty and I don't expect him to go out unless he is in a crate.
