I have watched the Wedding singer at least four times, and i hardly ever do that with any movies, it is such a neat movie and the combo of Drew and Adam is always great, have you seen them in fifty first dates, if you love the wedding singer you will also love this movie for sure. :)

We watched a really good movie called "Around the Bend". I had never heard of it and we just happened to catch it on one of the movie channels. It was a touching, sweet, funny and make you cry movie. It has Christopher Walken and Michael Caine in it. Worth watching!

Chris, you described it just the way I thought of it. I just don't get the ending. :o
Thanks, I'm glad you thought my Dead Mans Chest review fitted what you thought too Aylssa. :) What didn't you understand about the ending though? I may - and I mean may because it is a bit puzzling - be able to explain.

I watched Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby last night. That movie was super funny! I laughed out loud many times throughout it! If you like comedy, then I recommend this movie for you.

Couple days ago I saw the movie Benchwamers. That movie was also funny, but it was more like a dumb funny. I still liked the movie a lot!

I went and saw Descent yesterday ..it was good, i mean it wasnt terrifing, it had its moments though.. i think the small places the people were crawling through creeped me out the most honestly, im so claustrophoic, i seriously had a hard time breathing during a few of the scenes

I don't want to give anything about the movie away to anyone who didn't see it so I'll try not to use names. How did Captain B. Come back at the end when he was killed in the first one? That's what I don't get, it's way to confusing. POTC 2 was a great movie and all but it was rather confusing at the end.

I guess I didn't like "Charlie and the chocolate factory" because JD looked really bad in it, IMO. I didn't even know it was him when they first made the previews and all for it. I only like him as a Pirate and as himself. Also, I don't like how they changed the whole plot and all, with Willy Wonka's father and all. I liked the first one alot more.

EDITED: I also watched Scary Movie 3 2 days ago. It was very funny.

nothing today, but yesterday I watched Oliver Twist, because I saw the Movie Twist and its like this twisted version of Oliver twist so I wanted to see the real Oliver twist to compare it too, they kept the names and overall storyline, but Twist is more about Dodger then Oliver, and Oliver is a 17 year old orphan who ran away from his foster home and met Dodger who helped Oliver into his world of being a hustler, and both Dodger and Oliver are gay and Oliver likes Doger but Dodger hates Oliver, nancy gets killed by bill, Fagen kills himself for ratting on nancy, Dodgers brother visits, Dodger get uset and broken down, oliver was shut out the the person offering him a better life, Oliver makes a move on Dodger, Dodger beats Oliver up then kills Bill and there it ends lol but if you change the real Oliver twist to these details its actually follows the exact same storyline minus the happy ending and the workhouse boy beginning.

really? I actually liked this new one way better then the first one, Charlie and the chocolate factory actually explains WHY Willy Wonka is the way he is, and WHY he was locked away for 20 years, and he actually behaves like he has been in isolation, sure I miss the old oompaloompas but in the first one the loompas pretty much were the entire movie, and Wonka was just some random etcentric like any other, with no real reason for being like he was, and not really acting like he has been isolated, he was just, there. I found the end a bit cheesy, but overall I thought it was waaaaayy better made.

I think I've tried to answer this before, but I'll try again, even if it was directed towars Chris, I can't pass up anything that has to do with PotC!

*SPOILERS*

I think Captain B. came back because of something Tia Dalma did. Nobody knows for sure, but that is the most logical reason. The whole cliffhanger ending will probably be solved during the third movie. Earlier in the movie, when they first go visit Tia Dalma, you can see Barbossa's hat, and Jack is even 'playing' with it (examining it, obviously recognizing something). Then when Tia lets monkey Jack out of the cage, he runs and jumps on a pair of boots, and starts going all crazy, possibly noticing his 'master'. I hope that cleared it up a little. Maybe Chris can explain it better.

The Burning Bed with Farrah Fawcett.
It's based on a true story about

It really made me cringe the way this guy beat this girl over and over and the police never did anything.

I saw Taladega (I know I spelled that incorrectly) Nights, that was really funny. The children got on my nerves, but, I did laugh a lot, so, that's something. ;)

I saw that someone didn't like the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think any time you compare a remake to the "original", you will probably be disappointed, just because that's the one you saw first and if you loved it (which a lot of people did and a lot of people didn't...including the author, Roald Dahl - he hated it!), it's hard to accept a different version. But, just from reading the book first, the newer version is far truer to the author's vision. I didn't really care one way or the other for the added insight to Wonka's past, that's mostly filler from what I have heard, as the book is short. But, I think I actually enjoyed this version better. Johnny Depp is more like Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, and, I also liked that the newer version is more about Charlie than anyone else. And, he is, after all, the hero of the story.

Just as a disclaimer, though, I absolutely love both film versions. :)

I saw The New World lastnight with Colin Ferrel and a new actress. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's the story of Pochahontas redone and better. It's really artistic and the way John Smith and her run through the forest is beautiful. The change she goes through when she thinks he died and then re-marries and becomes "civelized" is really well done. It's more about her finding a new world than the explorers. I watched the extras and the actress who plays her was only 14 durring filming! (2004) that's as old as I was in 2004. They also filmed 10 miles away from the original Jamestown and built whole sets out of local materials and made them historically acurate. The native words they use are actually the correct words, and the man who plays the cheif is the actual present day cheif of the same tribe.

The other movie I now want to see is Master and Commander; The Far Side of the World. I'll review when I see it.

My husband and I saw Snakes On A Plane a few weeks ago. It was the best bad movie ever! We had been waiting with anticipation for months before it's release. We saw it with a late night crowd, mostly teenagers, which made it all the more fun. No it's not supposed to be a comedy, but it's also not a movie that can be taken seriously, you can't help laughing. My husband and I (and the whole theater, really) hardly stopped laughing throughout the movie.

The Departed. WOW. If you can't handle offensive language, racial slurs, and violence, do not go to this film. But, if you can...RUN TO SEE IT. It is phenomenal. The acting is fantastic, the cast is dynamite, and it even has a heart! I really found myself fond of several of the characters. Matt Damon isn't one I usually will run to go see, but, he was good in this movie, it was reminiscent of his role in Goodwill Hunting, ONLY because it takes place in South Boston and he has the same accent and curses a lot. ;) I like that he doesn't play the nice guy in this, as that is what he normally does. Jack Nicholson is definitely aging, but, aging well, in my opinion. He is a powerhouse in this movie. Mark Wahlberg's character is really rude and funny, but, I really liked him. And, Leondardo Dicaprio has always been a favorite of mine, but, he's been laying pretty low for awhile. He really returns with a bang (no pun intended) in this movie. I saw a preview with him and Djimon Honsou (sorry if I spelled that wrong) last night, too, called Blood Diamond. It looks really good. Intense drama, but, I like that. There were many previews last night that I want to see. I need to start keeping a journal strictly for "movies i want to see" and carry it with me to the theater. ;)

But, that was a bit off track. Go see The Departed. It's rough and extreme, but, really very good. I love Martin Scorsese. Sorry for the really long post, but, this film really rocks.

We don't go out to the movies, much, these days, but we have joined Blockbuster's DVD, by mail, program, and have seen a lot of movies, lately. One that sticks out in my mind is "Simon Burch", which Scott and I especially enjoyed because it is based on a John Irving novel that we both just finished called "A Prayer for Owen Meany". We also saw "Firewall" with Harrison Ford. Very intense, but good. And last night, we watched "Spanglish" with Adam Sandler and it was very touching.

I didn't watch these today but within the last month or so.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning - The whole movie made me think that Leatherface was going to die, although I knew it couldn't happen because of it being the beginning. It really made him vunerable in this movie.

Eight Crazy Nights - This movie is HILARIOUS. I'm usually bothered by cartoon/animated movies - I find them hard to pay attention to. But, this movie was great.

The Hills have Eyes - This movie is so gross but it cracks me up. If you've seen it, specifically the way they imitate noises - the dog barking, "daaaaaaaaadddddyy", "gargle gargle, gargle" etc. It's one of my favorites.

I joined Netflix.
I rented a lot of old movies I've never seen. Just saw "Lillies of the Field" with Sidney Poitier (*sigh*) and it was absolutely beautiful.

Kari..Trainspotter is on my list, I was so surprised to see you list it, as it wasn't given ample movie time in the US.

Right now, I got all 3 Xmen movies. I love that stuff as a change of pace. Some movies like Thelma and Louise, Fargo, Monsters Ball...I can see 1000x and love them just as much as the first time. It kills me to wait for DVD but going to the movies is way too expensive for me. I just have to be patient

I watched Keeping Mum, i think thats the title , i may have got it slightly wrong, he he, I always seem to do that, it is a british sort of comedy, starring Rowan Atkinson, Mr Bean, and Kristin scott Thomas, it was ok, nothing to rave about , but enjoyable all the same.

I love fifty first dates, going to see click next week, hopefully, if tickets not sold out, we have our can festival on, you bring a can of like baked beans and get free movie ticket, then they donate the food to the needy, is a real hit and of course tickets sell fast, melissa is all loaded with four cans today to pick up tickets after school lol, they are usually movies that have been on a while back, but u,me and dupree is another.

Watched most of The punisher last night, have the rest to see tonight as was on too late, and taped it, looks pretty good, rather violent though.

Saw Click last night, honestly i was not in the mood to go to the movies at all, feeling tired and just wanting to curl up on the couch, we arrived just on time, the theatre was full as free screening, and seats were limited, ended up getting seats not the best, but the movie was funny and sad and i did enjoy it very much . ;)
The actress who played his wife was gorgeous, but i did not like the character she portrayed, too nice if you know what i mean especially as he was such a sod at times, but all in all not a bad nights entertainment.

Well, now that I actually have time, I will post what I watched and what I thought of them.

I watched Click and Monster House this past weekend. Both were wonderful movies! Monster House was honestly one of the best cartoon movies that I've watched IMO. It had the right amount of funny-ness, scary-ness, and the kids acted like how they would in real life. My brother and I watched it together, and even he laughed out loud many times, and he is 18! I highly recommend this movie, although it may be scary for the littler ones.

Then I watched Click. I had heard that lots of people liked it, so I thought we should rent it. It was much better than I thought it was going to be! It was pretty funny, but some of the things said were a bit innapropriate and I felt uncomfortable hearing them and laughing at them with my brother in the same room. It was also very sad. I cried near the end many times :o I won't spoil why I cried though, you just have to watch it yourself ;). At some parts though, I wanted to just *strangle* either Michael or Donna! Michael (Adam Sandler) because of how he acted towards the kids or just how he acted in general, and Donna (Kate Beckinsale) for letting him get away with how he acted! All in all though, it was a wonderful movie!

In the past month I have watched...

Click - Hilarious! I laughed through most of the movie, especially the farting scene. LOL!

Monster House - Loved it! I thought it was a great movie.

Save the Last Dance 2 - I didn't care for this one...

The Break-Up - I thought it was a great movie!

Nacho Libre - Pretty good. I thought it was quite funny.

The Omen - I was in labor while watching this movie so I wasn't really paying attention.

Lucky Number Sleven - AWESOME! I loved the ending!

I think that would count as OBSESSED ! :D

P.S. The second one comes out December 5th, I hate myself for not getting obsessed with POTC before now, I missed it in theaters ! :( Now I have to wait almost a whole month ! Seems forever when you are waiting for Captain Jack Sparrow. :p

Nacho Libre - HATED it. SO mad that I wasted my money on the movie.

Stranger Than Fiction - I didn't like it. It had a few funny moments but I was pretty bored.

Haha yeah. I just recently became obsessed too! My brothers and I were bored one day so they suggested we watch a movie, and I hadn't seen CotBP yet so we watched it. That same day I watched it two more times and from then on I was obsessed! XD Then I begged them to take me to watch the second movie (you'll love it!) and when I came home I watched about a million clips on YouTube. I've seen a crapload of things (pictures, scripts etc) that relate to the third one. You've read the first 56 pages of the script right? If not I will gladly email it to you. I also have three different scripts for the second movie, all are mostly complete. Aaannnnd, I have the DMC bloopers already! I can't wait until Dec.5 though! And don't even GET me started on my room! So yeah...I'm obsessed. I love to be fangirl though! It's so fun! haha!

I've only read a bit of the 3rd script, I really wanna read it, but please don't let me. :p Even just the bit I've already read has spoiled parts of the 2nd one. :(

It's awesome, though. I watched a million clips of the 1st and 2nd on YouTube. I did thousands of quizes about it.

Also, don't tell me what is in the chest. (Davy Jones) I'll ask you millions of times and beg you untill you're sick. But please, mate, don't tell me ! It will ruin the whole movie.

Monica, you have to show me a picture of your room one of these days. I cannot wait till the second one comes out! I'm getting it for Christmas! :D My sister LOVES the first one and she hasn't seen the second one yet, so I have to force her to watch it to. My dad also liked it, he's the one who dragged me to the theaters to see it, and well he thinks all movies are crap. So that's saying something... ;) My mom really doesn't like POTC but I'll force it on her.

I finally watched Benji (the 2005 version). It was so sad. It featured back yard breeders and somebody dumping a dog on a dirt road. However, the dogs were sooooooooooo cute (Benji, Benji's Mom and Lizard Tounge). Lizard Tounge was my favorite. Not sure I would recommend it because it was so sad. That's where I got it from, Australia, pre-ordered it a while ago. Only cost about £2 more than buying it here and it came in that really cool tin.

It comes out Monday 20th here in the UK but some of the people who pre-ordered got it yesterday.

Don't know why it is released later over there. Perhaps it's getting a longer run in the cinema. Who knows, perhaps they will put more extras on the DVD to compensate, that would be nice. Then I would be telling you how jealous I was!

I watched Garfield: A tale of two kittes last night as well as Nacho Libre.

Garfield was a suprizingly(sp?) good movie. It was really funny and a good kids movie. I laughed out loud many times and well, it was just a good movie all around. I recommend it to anyone who is a animal lover.

Nacho Libre is one of my favorite movies! This is the second time i've watched it and I still laugh out loud many times. I think Jack Black was the perfect actor for this roll. I loved, loved, LOVED this movie. I don't think everybody will like it, but I certaintly did.

Not too much. He grew up in a strict Quaker home, his father seemed pretty tough. His father believed the only way to get something is to earn it. I didn't know 2 of his brothers died quite young and that really had an effect on him. It also seemed his relationship with Pat was rather turbulent, at one point she said if he didn't quit politics she'd divorce him. It's sad but he seemed consumed with hate, especially for Jack and Bobby Kennedy. He was convinced that Jack "stole" the 1960 election from him. He believed that everyone was out to destroy him. I saw the movie on Comcast On Demand - free movies, it's long, 3+ hours, but well worth it

Carole, I know what you mean. For almost the entire movie, my heart broke for "Aileen", but, near the end, she really did appear to have just completely gone out of her head. I can't imagine going through what she did, though, and don't even pretend to understand what that does to a person. I've had my buttons pushed and gone beyond what is normal and acceptable for me (which is always verbal garbage, nothing physical...but, still just as "out of character" for me). By the end of the movie, and after reading about her, she really seemed to think she was too far gone to be helped. It's just heart-breaking that people can do to others what they did to her. :(

And, Clover...I love all three of those movies. :)

Eragon was a wonderful movie, IMO! I haven't read the books, so I guess that's why I wasn't disappointed like others who HAVE read the books. Well, I loved the movie and cried a bit at the end. Won't tell why though. :p I can't wait to see if they are going to make a second one or not! I loved the Eragon/Ed Speelers shirtless scene, too. ;) XD

Night at the Museum was a good movie too! It was something different, and I loved it! It had many funny parts, and, well...with Robin Williams, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, how couldn't it be funny?! I highly recommend this movie as just a fun family night out thing. It didn't have any bad parts or anything, so I guess that's a plus for those who have little ones!

Well since it is school holidays we have been hiring out some movies, ones that have been around for a while but i never got to see.

In her shoes- loved this movie, cameron is her usual cute self strutting around in her knickers, but hey if i looked like her why not, love that girl, and Toni Collette is great as usual, so not hollywood that girl, good aussie girl, and great actress in my opinion.

Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants- again another lovely movie, certainly a chick flick, but i enjoyed it very much.

The perfect Man- another cutesy movie, enjoyable and Hillary her usual cute self in this movie.

Closer- this movie is just awful, don't rent it, i thought i was in for a love story, boy i need to get new reading glasses again, not really, but i missed what this was really about, very sexually explicit language wise, and i thought in bad taste, no prude, but i hated this movie really. It started off looking good to me and it had awards, but i was hugely disappointed.

Edward scissorhands- i know this is an oldie and i have never seen it before, my melissa made me sit down and watch it and i must say i loved it, so sweet and JD you are tops again in any movie you are in.

Match Point- my friend told me about this movie ages ago and how it ended, so hired it out, was quite good, reasonably enjoyable i thought.

Spanglish- not too bad, not my fav movie with Adam Sandler in it, but was a nice movie all the same.

Watched as good as it gets on the telly, good movie.

Gonna watch Prime, Hitch and the island this week sometime.

I watched somethings gotta give on the telly last night, saw it at the movies ages ago and really cannot remember much of it at all, but knew i loved it, however i fell asleep and missed the end , can someone please tell me what happens, i saw the bit where she was dating the young doctor, thanks.

P.S i must recommend THE MATADOR, saw it at the movies a while back and it is finally on DVD here now, so am gonna rent it so hubby can see it, really enjoyed this movie.

I went to see Notes on a Scandal. It wasn't a really fast paced movie, but, I thought it was excellent. It's a touchy, controversial subject, but, I thought it was handled well. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a controversial, thought-provoking, intense subject matter. There's not a lot of blatant humor, but there is a fair bit of dark humor, which I respond to. Anyway, it's a great movie. :)

I think if they card you and you are not with an adult, they won't allow you to see the movie. But, with an adult, you can get a ticket. I think NC17 is where no people under 17 can enter, even with a parent.

I saw Pan's Labyrinth last night. I hated it, but I hate most violent movies and this one was particularly so, in a very disturbing way.

I should have read other people's posts to find out it was so violent! My husband was the one who wanted to go- he liked it, anyway. I still don't know whether the girl's supernatural events were fantasy or not...I'd like to think they were real so the ending isn't so horrible.

We saw Night at the Museum last week. Several people had told us that it was a great movie and we should see it. It wasn't as great as people had lead us to believe, but it was alright.

I'm currently watching Oklahoma! I haven't watched this movie is so long.

We watched Jackass 2 and The Illusionist.

My husband is so thrilled for the Bridge of Terabithia (sp). He was surprised that I wasn't and had to explain to me that it was required reading when he was in school. So, he's going to drag me to that and the newest Hannibal movie.

I saw Shop Girl, Last Holiday and Phat Girls recently. I was disappointed with Shop Girl.. it wasn't as good as I was anticipating it to be. Last Holiday I thought was cute. Phat Girls was a pretty good laugh.. I really enjoyed it.

Last night we saw Casino Royale and I believe this newest 007 is just as good as Sean Connery! He really is cute and the movie was exciting. The main "bad guy" was really creepy

Two movie updates :).
Just came back from watching Alpha Dog, with Justin Timberlake...it was actually decent. The end was kind of a shocker, they usually don't do stuff like that. I didn't realize it was based on a true story...I just looked it up and indeed, it is. I would definately recommend it, but not for a real young crowd. If you can put up with a lot of adult/drug themes, you might like it.

I also just saw Sling Blade recently...man, that was a great movie. MMMHHMM! I liked it a lot, it's different.

They're also coming out with a "Hills Have Eyes 2" in the spring, too! Can't wait!

Man, I LOVE Bruce Willis... but I hate these Singers-gone-Actors. I may have to splurge some money *just* because Willis is in it.

I watched Dream Girls tonight, in between studying for exams. It was VERY well done.
