Squid being lost really hits home with me.

Niki, my aussie who some of you know, is missing.

She's been staying with my dad since I moved into an apartment and then moved back home. Mom just told me, as well as my friend on here and other boards, that it would be better for her to stay with my dad or at least stay with him until I'm settled into a home. Well I found out last week that she was missing. Neither my dad nor my mother told me and it really hurt me, she'd already been missing for a week. I put up flyers, called vets, called the two closest humane societies and my dad's been going around the area, he lives in the country, trying to ask about her and she's not come home nor been found.

I'm terrified something bads happend to her or that I'll never see her again. I just hope that someone good found her and will love her and treat her right. Of course, if someone like that does, I would've thought they'd have hunted for her owners or at least called the HS. :( That's what I would do.

Just please, be thinking of her, pray that she comes home or just send good vibes that she'll come home or be found. Thanks so much everyone.

Oh, my gosh. :( I'm sorry that she's missing. There's way too much of that going on in Pet Talk. That hurts to hear that you didn't know about it for a week. (That's what happened to a cat of mine when I was young, it was awhile before my mom felt she was able to tell me Pepper was gone.) I'm sorry about Niki. :(

Don't give up hope. After 5 days without Squid and no sign of him I never thought I'd see him again. The next thing I know I'm getting a phone call and he's sat on my doorstep! I'm sure your pretty girl will turn up soon.

This is just awful news. It's a shame your parents didn't tell you sooner. Keep contacting the shelters and actually go down there and check the shelters out. Is Niki microchipped? Can you knock on peoples doors and ask if they've seen Niki? Did you call the police? (they may have seen Niki). Please keep us updated. I hope you find her.

Niki is not microchipped, she had on a collar with ID tags but the collar could fall off or something :( I haven't called any police, I didn't think about that, of course, I'd be better off calling the sherrif since the nearest police dep. is about 30 miles either way. I need to put an ad in the paper too, I'm so broke right now, I put up a reward for her return, which I hope I can find the money for :( :(

I just thought I'd update this post, I know it's kinda old but I decided it'd be better than making a new post.

Niki still hasn't been found. I can only hope that she has someone taking wonderful care of her. I kept calling different places, put an ad in the paper, called the human societies from the two couties around this area and reported her missing, I even called the sherrif dept. just in case.

Yeah, I lost a pet cat as a child. She was already pretty old, and, I never did find out if she was all right. It doesn't bother me like it did, of course, but, that wonder never really does go away. At least, it didn't for me. I still sometimes catch myself thinking of Pepper and hoping she lived for awhile longer. I don't think she would have ever become someone's loved pet, as she was not an indoor cat. But, hopefully, she lived and had a fun time. ;) And, hopefully, Niki is warm and healthy and being loved. I'm just sorry that it's not with you.

I'm so, so sorry! I had a pit bull sheri/pei mix his name was Kato. That dog was my heart and soul. He came up missing, we think he might have been stolen. I was a basket case for months. It will be 4 years in Jan. that I lost him. I think about him every single day, I still cry over him. "Sigh" I loved that dog so much. I feel your pain I really do. :(

I am so so sorry you havent found Niki. I hope she has a good home, and they are treating her good.

I sort of know how you feel, at the moment, my cat is missing :( She has been missing for about a week now. I have email the human society and they are putting a picture up of her, on their "lost" page. I hope she finds her way home, or someone has found her and is taking good care of her.

I'm soooo sorry :( what a horrible situation, Niki is a wonderful pup and I'm praying for her safe return. It's not fair at all to lose a dog and not even have closure as to where they are, its almost the WORST thing imaginable.

I would never ever forgive my parents if I were you... that's not really fair to say, because I don't know their situation, but in my situation I wouldn't forgive my parents for not telling me the instant it happened if Gonzo ran away. I REALLY hope this has a VERY happy ending for you and Niki -.- I know how much you care about her..
