My mother got a little calico girl today, and she named her Peggy. She was born on April 16 at my cousins house (outdoors, but with human contact), and today she moved into her new home. My mother and her fiancé live in the forest (they have a restaurant (http://www.tillyschanze.de/index2.html)), and already have one cat, Dino, who has the woods as his territory. But my mother had never a cat of her own, and that's why she decided to get baby Peggy.

Of course I showed up soon after she arrived, and spent the entire afternoon with her. My mother was busy in the restaurant, and I didn't want the baby to be alone on her first day in her new home. Besides, she starts crying when she's alone, and she's not supposed to go outside before she's accustomed to her new home. We bonded immediately, and I think she thought I was her new meowmie. She cuddled with me, came running when I called her, and she's a real purring machine! :) My cousin says she's a wild one, but today in her new home, she was cautious and slept a lot. I guess all the new impressions made her feel tired and exhausted.

Here she is: :)

But I have to admit that I'm also a bit worried. You know, I had these arguments with Reinhold (my mom's fiancé) in the past about the way to treat cats (about punishment and stuff, and I had a few words with him today, and it seems he has learned his lesson after our last argument a while ago), I'm also worrying about their two resident pets, Dino the Meano and Rocky, the Rottweiler. Both of them are extremely jealous, and Rocky has once killed accidently a kitten when he was playing with him. And Dino, who is such a loner, once acted extremely aggressive towards Luna when I had her with me when I was seeing my mom. My mother hopes that he will be more tolerant now as Peggy is still a kitten. And Rocky is on good terms with Dino for years, she she hopes there are no problems with him, either. They have agreed with my cousin that Peggy can go back home just in case it wouldn't work with Rocky and Dino, but I hope this won't happen. It's not only that my mother is so in love with littly Peggy; after seeing the kitten and spending time with her, I feel very protective about her and just want to keep any kind of danger away from her.

So please, may I ask for some positive thoughts and vibes for little Peggy?

Thanks, Kirsten

Lots and lots of positive thoughts and vibes coming for little Peggy. She is just sooo sweet and beautiful. We will all keep fingers, toes, paws and whiskers crossed for her saftey and that all goes well with her new family (skin and fur).

This pic is just tooo sweet. It is like she is saying "Are you my meowmie? Is this my furrever home? You know I love you !"

She is soooo soooo soooo cute. But then again I have a huge soft spot for calicos.

P.S. I am sending my RB Mytsi(a calico too) to be little Peggy's guardian kitty and to keep her safe. Mytsi won't let anything happen to her. She swore by raising her paw and saying " I will keep Peggy safe and happy. She will be under my protection and nothing or no one will harm her. I promise meowmie. And tell Kirsten she is safe in my warm paws, ok"

What a sweet, sweet face! She is beautiful!

I admit I am a bit frightened for this little one with the aggressive dogs, esp one who has already killed another kitten. Any way to separate these guys? I would hate for anything to happen to this precious little one.

Aww, Peggy is gorgeous! Absolutely beautiful. Usually full grown animals will be very gentle with young ones. I hope it works out well with Peggy. Your pictures of her are lovely. What a sweetheart!

I have a friend Peggy that is taking care of my RB babies until I can get there to do it myself and I will ask her to watch over her little namesake kitty.

Those marking reming me so much of Giz's markings, just the color is different. I hope she has a personality like Giz's.... she would be a real hoot to have around if she does!

She has such awesome markings on her. Best of luck that everything works out okay for her.

Thank you everyone! :)

Laura, that is so sweet of you - thank you very much!

About Rocky, the rottie: It's not that he's really aggressive, actually he's a sweetheart, but he is jealous, and once he had played with a kitten and was too roughly, and that's the way it happened... He felt bad after that, as if he was sorry, and I don't think it was his fault... It was an accident, but unfortunately, it has happened.

I'm almost more worried about Dino, the cat. Maybe he will get used to the little one, but I guess when they find a way to co-exist, that would already be a great success!

And as far as Reinhold goes... well, so far he has been more considerate when it came to introduce the pets to each other than I had expected... We'll see.
