Here is my pretty collie girl, Bijou, doing what she does best (changing the rules I thought I had for my house ("no doggies on the sofa" to the rules that she put in place "doggies on the sofa whenever they want!"):

Here are my three girls (daughter Megan, Bonnie and "the Bij" -- my daughter is blurry but Bijou is crystal clear -- go figure ;)):

Here's the "second dog" we decided to adopt:

Charity (the lighter one) and Levi (her brother, the darker one), a sibling pair -- after much thought and consideration of both my family and the needs of a new dog, we decided to concentrate on Bijou and continue to put our efforts into raising her to be a good canine citizen. Bijou deserves our full attention and I absolutely adore her -- when she is older, perhaps a second dog adoption will be the right thing to pursue; for now, we have fallen hard for this little pair of 4-month-old kittens and we pick them up on Tuesday! I think our home will be filled with fun and love with our (soon to be) three cats, and Bijou can be Top Dog for a while longer. I'm so comfortable with this turn of events, I know it's the right path, despite my inner longing for another dog (someday!).
Thanks for everyone's continued good thoughts -- this has been a really wonderful road to travel, and I love where we stopped off for a bit!
