He IS really sweet!!:D And let me tell you...he doesn't run away from anyone hardly...Dom just loves attention!!:D (next to his carrots...lol!);)

awww, he sounds like a perfect little Cavy!! I was wondering... a guy in my Betta club has to give away his young Cavy because he's moving to the bay area. He's tan with a white head, comes with a cage and accessories for free... he offered the little guy to me. Do you think I should get him? I've never had a Guinea Pig before, only bunnies. My bunnies were VERY spoiled, but VERY time consuming. Are Cavies very hard to care for? He'd get quite a bit of play time daily, but do they tear apart their cage if they don't get exercise for one day (like my Buns did)? I have heard they're lower-maintenance than Bunnies, which is what I'd like. I also don't really want a pet that will tear up the carpet when I look the other way.... like the Buns did :p

Is Domino ok with Blaze, and with kids??

bckrazy: Guinea pigs are great pets, you really s hould take that one! lol My guinea pig is ok with Snowy and with my little sisters. They are really, really awesome pets and just love to cuddle with you (well, some of them anyways). You would be a great guinea pig mom. ;)

bckrazy- I think you should get him too!! I have 3 very spoiled piggies and I got them all from friends who got them and didn't want them anymore, I don't know why, they are all soo sweet. Mine enjoy getting outside to eat the grass when its nice out or just cuddling on my lap when I'm on the computer or watching Tv. They are all great with Kids and don't really care about the dogs, even Mini who wants to have pig for dinner...My pigs have never tried to dig up the carpet or tear apart their cages if they don't get out to play, they actually are all really calm. The only problem I have is that the cages have to be cleaned every other day or it gets pretty stinky but other than that they are great pets!!!

they sound even better than what I've heard.. I have met a bunch of Cavies, most of them are my friends and probably haven't had the best socialization, some are pretty shy and skittish. I'd like to meet him just to see how I feel, thanks for the advice ;)

If you do meet that cavy, he will probably be nervous and not as sweet as he would be once he warms up to you. After I got Taffy it took him so long to adjust to a new home and me playing with him everyday. Now that I've had him for 6 years he is so well adjusted to this house, the stress from moving him out of this house to the vet and pet sitter has given him a heart attack. (But that has to do with his old age, too.)

bckrazy, Piggies are great pets! You definately should go for it! They don't need as much exercise as buns, but they do require a lot of care in their diet, cage cleaning, and things like that. But they are less work than bunnies. Good luck. And if not with you, I hope he gets a good home.
