These Cats Sure Do Love Their Cat Condom Bed!!!

Hi everyone.:) I've been making cat condom beds for all of my pet loving friends and some PT friends too. I just received some very cute pictures from a friend of mine. She has 4 cats and 3 of them decided to pile into one of the cat condom beds. She has 3 beds now but I guess her cats love snuggling together. Enjoy!:D

AHHHH!

And guess what? After a couple days of cautiously sniffing the lovely bed you gave us last week, I caught Cassy sleeping in ours today. I tried to grab the camera for a shot of him, but was too noisy -- he came to join me and sort of blew the moment. I hope to have a photo to add to this thread soon though.

Just to tantalize the others, our bed is a fleecy one with gray cats in a garden with clusters of pink roses. And it's soooo soft and inviting I think it's tempting for a nap, too!

I never thought -- do you have a photo of the one you donated for the Fisher House fundraiser last week? My photos didn't turn out, but I bet everyone here would love to see your handiwork.

(It was the most enthusiastically bid for item in our silent auction. Very silky feeling, too. It had a cat and dog theme on a light blue background. She picked the material so it would appeal to both dog and cat lovers.)

for the person who wanted to know why they are 'condoms' instead of 'condos' -

A kitty 'tree' is, of course, an indoor 'tree', usually covered in carpet, for the kitties to climb -

kitty 'condos' are trees, but usually with a cat sized 'birdhouse' or tunnel to get into - an actual kitty-sized 'room'

A kitty 'condom' on the other hand, is named for it's rolled edge which makes it look (obviously) like a 'condom'. But if you don't like the name - you can just call 'em "round kitty beds"! LOL!

This is one I made for my Pixel, out of my sons old crib bumper pad ( the ruffle was already sewn into the pad, so I used it that way) and an old pillow for stuffing.

I'm going to make some more - and am thinking of trying old, soft t-shirts or sweatshirts turned fuzzy side out. ( ones my ever- growing son has outgrown!)

Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone.:D I'm still not much of a sewer so they take me longer than the average person but I'm getting the hang of it and I really enjoy making them.:) I have made a few for my friends with small dogs too and I used a dog print.

LOL, thanks for explaining. That is so cute. My kitties have one condom I bought and two beds with the high sides. I should get the little bed out for the summer since it would be cooler than a high side bed.

Of course, the ones you make are so much cuter than a plain material one.
