perky and Ripley are from the shelter, happy and Blair are from the same breeder, Misty is from a cattle ranch. the gerbils came from a pet store, the rabbit from the shleter, one of my guinea pigs from a petstore, the rest bred myself(well not on purpose, the first litter we though friskit was a girl, we were wrong and he bred to Missy, I kept pestering my mom that we needed to seperate them NOW but my mom refused to listen she figered there was lots of time to put a new cage together, then Missy had the babys when we were not home, and Friskit bred her again immediently afterward, that is when my mom came to her sences.

My very first cat, Mollie Rose (11 years old) I got at the Bill Wilson House in East Dorset, Vermont. (Bill Wilson is the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous).

Maya Laquita Lynn was rescued from the San Juan Airport in Puerto Rico, along with her mama and brother.

Parker, my Meezer mix, I recently rescued from the Allen Park Animal Shelter, 2 days before she was scheduled to be killed.

I was just curious. I'd hope nobody would start any troube if somebody purchased from a pet store. It can't be undone. One of the purposes of this forum is to teach owners about places like mills and bybs and such.

Molly and Daisy came from breeders.

Angel, Dillian and Mocha were adopted from the shelter.

Piper was purchased at Petco and Pumpkin was a "rescue".

Frankie was also a rescue and my mom got Phil, Percy, George, Bernie and Roy from a friend.

:) My Babies are all adopted = Callet from pet store reject & was charged more cause no one else wanted her due to she was so sick with ear mites & she was underfeed & near death; Half Pint was a stray from work; Buttons was adopted with a Glaucomaic Eye (that we treat) & is one eyed now; Autumn was a real bad abuse & beaten case & also has only one eye & she was so scared of humans it took 4 months of solid patience just to get her out from under the bed & but now she all ok; Yardleigh (3 ft in a yard) yes is three legged & can run faster than the four legged ones; A brand new baby from Walmart Parking lot is Splenda & was so starved & eyes all infected & is now going thru treatment & will be all ok && of course three dogs all were adopted also.. Oh did I mention I just get to live in the house so all the babies get pamperd & feed well..

All of mine came out of 'free' adds so I rescued them in a way. Nobody else would have taken them if we wouldn't have. They could have ended up on the streets or in a shelter. :(

I do plan on adopting/rescuing all of my animals I have in the future :)

I said pet store, breeder, and other. I got my mice, snake, and guinea pig at a pet store. I got Annabelle, my pug, from a breeder. Other was my cats and my rabbit. My cats came from my horseback riding instructor a couple of years ago and my rabbit was from a fair in New Hampshire.

What we did was horrible, I wish I would have found PT earlier or tried harder to convince my parents that breeding Min was a bad idea...but its been 13 months since Ky has been a part of our life now...I really wish we wouldn't have done it! I feel like an outsider here and a huge hypocrit, I am always telling people to spay and neuter their dogs but then my parents go ahead and breed our own dog :(

RB Retread was from a humane society. My mom got him when he was 5 weeks old (this was back in 1983).

RB Buttons was given to us by a then-stranger (she's now my mom's best friend). She's not really a dog person and she bought two at once, one was Buttons and the other was his father (puppy mill of course), and when my brother begged for him (he was little and cute ;)) she said we could have him.

Mandy's a shelter baby, we got her at 8 weeks. She was a-freaking-dorable too :p

Nova's from a backyard breeder. Never, ever again. She is my heart dog and I will never, ever regret buying her but I just hate that she has so many horrible health problems and she's only a year old :(

Luka's a humane society dog, was probably from a backyard breeder originally judging soley by her conformation (mismark, underbite, dudley). We adopted her in November when she was almost 2 years old. She was abused really bad before the humane society got her.

Buck is from a reputable breeder.

Zsa-Zsa was bought from a breeder. Tia came from a pet shop. But don't worry, it is a very good pet shop and I know the lady that owns it. She takes very good care of the animals and doesn't interbreed and stuff.

I have pets from all those places- including other. Not so sure about the mill/byb thing- who judges whether a breeder is legit or not? A very conscientious breeder can look pretty sloppy beside an even more conscientious breeder. And technically, petstore animals could often be said to come from a mill, so I think that option is quite ambiguous.

2 dogs were strays, 2 from a breeder,
2 cats were foster offspring, 1 was stray, 1 was private rescue
both my pigs were from petstores
rabbit breeder
rats- 2 from breeder, 2 from feeder breeder, 1 rescue, 1 from feeder bin at petstore, and two private rescue
Hamsters- 3 petstore, 1 private rescue, 1 breeder, 1 rescue offspring, 5 we bred
Gerbils- 2 private rescue, 3 offspring of these
That's pretty much it. I do take in a lot of private rescues as I have that reputation. ;)

Ash was a stray who turned up on our verandah, in fact i think he had been sleeping there for sometime, Lexie we adopted from a cat shelter, and Duchess and Vicky are not mine legally, but since having the neighbours kitties spayed they have moved in my backyard, i look after them and we have built them a shelter, so i really feel they are mine now. :)

She was very much into Siamese and Ragdoll cats but none of her cats were or are altered so.... she ended up with a very large litter and we rescued a girl (who is in the process of getting spayed). Mortos, the gerbil, came from PetCo.

Panna and Cannelle are both rescues. Panna was an "I want her gone right away or she's going to the high kill shelter" so I flew her up to Canada from Las Vegas right away and Cannelle came from a rescue we foster for. I wouldn't have it any other way, I'm never going to buy another animal.

Bob (5 ? in 2011) and Emily (13 ? in 2011) (RB Oct 2013) were thrown out because the lady was tired of them but didn't want them killed at a shelter.

Callie (2 in fall 2012? ) is a runaway semi-feral, chased from her colony by a tomcat. Adopted my porch as her home (March 2012). Now in my bedroom.

Mac was given to me by my Supervisor at the time. She had "poofed" him from a very abusive and neglectful family on her block. He would be locked out of their house without food or water for days at a time. When they left for a week's vacation they locked him in the garage without any food or water. Neighbors heard him meowing and released him and my Supervisor brought him to work with her. She said she thought of me first thing as someone who would give him a good home. 11 years later, he's still with me and he is my :love: cat.

Kimba I rescued off the streets. He had been thrown out of two homes by people in my apartment complex. The first time he saw me was in December of 2010 when he was just a little kitten. He looked lost, I called "hello, little guy" and he came running to me. He had a collar on so I thought he had a home. When I saw him again in April of 2011, my apartment manager told me that he had been feral for awhile but that I could take him in if I wanted (our apt. complex had a 2 cat limit and I already had 2, but she said she wouldn't say anything to the owners). I've had Kimba for almost 3 years now. Those people who threw him out on the street sure missed a love bug. He is a total lap cat and a drooler. Love this little guy so much!:love:

Buddy from a breeder...he was a pup that had a deposit payed on him and they never showed up so she just kept him until he was 9 months old and I got him.
Both came from dogs who were cared for but lived in kennels. I wouldn't do that again.
