I have a foster, Raven, who was spayed three weeks ago. Now she's acting like she's in heat! This was to the point on Saturday where I got an X-rated exhibit between her and my nine year old NEUTERED male! I already contacted the vet; they said to observe her for another week and take her in if it doesn't subside. Fortunately I think she's getting over it! Silly kitties.

eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....is there a possiblity that she was not spayed even though they say she was? I know that has happened before. Maybe a double check with the vet to see if she actually is spayed is called for

They had to abort some kittens that were very early; I don't think they would have made that up! I think she's being weird. Her incision is definitely visible.

Maybe it has something to do with her being pregnant during the spay. Since she didn't get to deliver the babies, maybe somehow her cycle got confused and makes her feel that she is in heat again.

She has a vet appointment on Thursday, in case this doesn't subside.

Let's hope it lets up and she returns to "normal". And also lets hope the vet can tell you why this happened and can help with it not happening again. Poor little girly.

Hmmm that's a new one on me also! The only thing I can figure is maybe they didn't remove her ovaries completely, and left a portion in her....just enough to cause those hor'moan'al crazies!? Keep us posted on this mystery. ;)

I too wondered if there is a possibility of them missing an ovary (or part of one). I sure hope not as they will never be able to find it and and she will be condemned to having heat cycles just like an intact cat. :(

My friend has a cat who was spayed but still goes into heat. It has something to do with only one ovary being removed. I can find out for you if you like.

She has calmed down some. The vet said they there may be "ectopic tissue' which is ovary cells growing where they're not supposed to. All her stats were in the normal range, except she purred so loud the vet couldn't listen to her hearT!:D
