i have a question about the recirculating drinking water fountains (for kitties) . Do they make a model that actually chills the water too? I may want to purchase one for abby and buddy , but they like fresh chilled water and we may have to leave them alone for maybe two nights (for the first time :( ) and i want them to be as comfortable as possible. do any of the big chain pet stores have such a item? thank you:)

I am not sure but I my girls like their water cold too. I keep it cold longer by first having the water in the freezer for a little bit to get real cold and then when I fill their dish I put ice cubes to hold the cold.

I have the fountain and I don't find that it gets too warm. Of course I have 12 cats drinking from it so the water doesn't last that long.;) Another thing that might help is mine sits right by the air conditioning vent.
I think your kitties would really like it. Cats seem to love fresh moving water.

If you have a/c in the room where the water is it should stay cool.

I don't think they make one that keeps the water cool...but that's a really great idea!

Maybe try some ice in it?
