Hi!
My Beenie does that too in certain times of the year.
It's probably allergies or her nails are bothering her.
There is a product that you spray on the paws to soothen irritated skin or you can try rinsing the feets (hehe feets) off after he's been outside.

my RB dalmatian did that, thats because of allergies.
Your dog most likely has allergies.Put some soothing cream on his feet, and dont let him lick it off.

I had my vet tell me that constant foot chewing came from an inhaled allergy. Anyone heard of that?

Foot chewing can sometimes also be caused by boredom or insecurity. If something has really changed in the dogs life or if he is left alone for most of the day. It could be allergies too, like many have said.

My Golden Retriever chews on her foot, the vet has said it is allergies. I give her benedryl and that helps a lot. Call your vet and ask about it, he/she can hopefully give you the correct dosage for your dog.

Nanook does that, out of habit or boredom, just like people chew their finger nails he chews his feet.
I've discussed it with the vet & as long as he does no damage (chews his hair off, feet become tender, sore or raw, etc...) to just leave him be.
