Pit Chick

We saw a male Pit Bull yesterday morning on the way to work wandering around a convenient store parking lot outside of my neighborhood Unfortunately we had to keep going for lack of space at home and running late for work. Then again yesterday evening we spotted him at the same store. So we stopped and called to him. He nervously approached and sniffed us, wagging his tail and giving out a few whimpers, he wanted to get in the car, but he remained cautious and kind of jumpy. We left and came back with some food and water, but still space is the problem. After my conscience wouldn't let me leave him out there overnight, I went back later that night only to see that he wasn't there. This morning the food I left him was gone so I'm hoping he ate and went for cover from the rain. He is not neutered of course, quite tall for a Pit, with cropped ears, probably about 60-65lbs. He is brindle with merle patches (very interesting markings), so it's possible he has Catahoula in his ancestry a couple of generations back. He got a lot of looks from people at the store passing him by who would love a status symbol like this boy on the end of a chain to boost their ego or make money as a breeding machine; it's not the best neighborhood. Unlike the city animal control (Houston), the county will come pick up a dog if they are called out, especially a Pit and he is too close to a very busy street. If I can catch him, is there anyone that could foster him? We can set up a transport for out of town fosters. Please let me know soon.
