Hi all,
Saw the cutest thing this morning and had to share:
Cassy and Livvy were sitting on a window sill as I was finishing doing my hair this morning. Against the bright morning light they were beautiful feline silhouettes looking out across the shrubs and parking lot. Suddenly a plump mourning dove fluttered down on the sidewalk across the way -- exactly centered through the window framed between their bodies. It almost seemed the cats hadn't seen it -- no perceptable movement, then in unison two tail tips lifted and began a slow, synchronized sway -- as if the tips were fencing with each other independent of the cats.
It was hysterical. I burst into laughter which ruined the moment for the cats. Such a look from my fur babies!
:D <-- me; <-- the cats
Strongly suspect they will not be inviting me on any hunts!

AmberLee -- I think we should have a write off (not in the acounting sense but in the baking sense!)
Not only does your descriptive writing paint a picture of your fur babies, but I have no doubt from reading that I could pick you out in a crowd as well.
In any case -- I blush and thank you for the compliment!

The cat is artistry in motion. Their natural inquisitive intensity adds a full new dimension to our simple world. Oh, that I could say so much with the swish of a tail or impart such joy in simple play or exude such comfort in a purr-laced sleep!
To those, like Amber, who are able to appreciate these magic moments, many blessings await.

Amberlee,
That sounds like what happened to my cat Dutchess on Sunday morning...
Dutchess was sitting on top of the cat tree facing the huge window that is in the den. Outside is the only tree we have and I have a bird feeder hanging from it. Well, Dutchess sees this bird sitting there in the birdfeeder. She goes all crazy. She starts making this noise like we have never heard and then she starts moving the virtical blinds away so she could see better and stretches her neck as far as she can to the window. It was so funny my husband and I just watched and laughed.
Must get a window sit for t hem.

AmberLee you paint such a picture with your words. Thank you for sharing that with us. For just a moment we can get into their minds and see things as they see them. Their lives to us might seem simple (eating, bird watching, sleeping) but what a contribution they make to the lives of their humans who, if they will take time to watch and enjoy just as you have done, will be delighted with the wonder of it all! What beautiful creatures!

I am so glad you all said that, now I don't feel dumb telling you this...last Friday, I had had a terrible week, I was laying on the couch watching the furballs play/sleep/drink/live. It was so wonderful to observe each personality and to enjoy them. I was thinking that I could watch them all day, even if they chose to sleep all day, they are wonderful creatures. They have added to my life in so many wonderful ways. They are so much to me.
OK....sappiness time is over... :D
I LOVE your story Amberlee, I laughed out loud when I pictured Cassy and Livvy scowling at you!!! Too, too funny!! :)

LOL LOL Too too funny, and I can picture it perfectly, Amberlee!!! I think moments like these are why people like us love cats so much!:) There's just something about cats that keeps us captivated, you know?
I always am especially touched when I am feeling sad, and my Marius will ever so softly jump into my lap, give me a 'nose greet' then curl up and purr. I think cats really pick up on their human counterpart's emotions. They can also give you those funny looks when they are annoyed with you.....LOL LOL:rolleyes:
