*BIG YAWN * Morning all.. I just started the coffee pot but wanted to ask Possum for a little help here. Mario is going to be a bit busy for the next couple of days :( I know you're young Possum, and haven't been around the bar much but if you could just greet people at the door when they come in - oh you know, with maybe a slurpie kiss - we could still have a nice day :) Maybe some fluffy scrambled eggies with crispy bacon, or sausage? Flakey biscuits with honey or homemade jam? Don't know about anyone else but I think a Bloody would really hit the spot. I'll be in the back Possum, let me know when someone comes in please ;) "Come on people now, smile on your brother (or sister) - everybody get together and just love one another right now" By the way Possum, your new coat is simply lovely!

Corinna

Hi Possum, what are you doing here? Aww, what a lovely kiss! I'll just sit by the fire for a minute to dry off. ;)
Food smells FANTASTIC in here today! I'll take one of everything going, please.

It's on it's way KK. Would you like a splash of Kahlua or Slick's Bailey in your java? Stop back later Corinna, we'll save some biscuits for you for later :)

**bigger yawn** **rubs eyes**
Good morning everyone....oh, hello Possum you sweet little pup. I know this is your first job and it's an important one but I think you will do perfectly fine. Just no peeing on the barstools, OK? Poor Mario....I sure hope he's doing OK.

Laurie, that breakfast smells great. I'll take my eggs with a splash of Tobasco, please. I hardly ate any dinner last night and I'm starving this morning. Got another busy day ahead of me but will try and check back from time to time.

**waves** Hi Karen, Hi Corinna. :)

Morning Slick, don't suppose you brought any of that yummy Canadian bacon did you? Want a Bloody to go? Possum, it's not polite to stare at ladies when they first wake up

slick
05-25-2005, 09:10 AM
Smoked Canadian bacon, DONE! Hee Hee, I haven't said that for weeks.

BM?? Sure, why not! We've got to get in practice, you know.;)

No, Possum, this bacon is not for you yet. Wait until it's cooked and I'll sneak a bit for you. Shhhh, don't tell your Daddy I said that.

A little too early for a BM yet so I'll just take glass of OJ. Any Champagne to add to it? Oh, Laurie, that just gave me an idea for the BBQ morning after breakfast....;) :D

05-25-2005, 09:36 AM
"Hair of the dog that bit you" eh? No no Possum, that's just an expression ;)

Killearn Kitties
05-25-2005, 09:48 AM
Don't let that expression give you ideas, Possum! :D

This breakfast is wonderful, and coffee with Slick's Baileys! Well, it's heaven! Horrible day here today, so I'm just going to stay in the bar!

'Mornin' Everyone! Eggies and bacon (Canadian at that) sounds yummy!

At our motorhome rally we get breakfast provided for us everyday. One morning they had deep fried rice krispy french toast. Looked yummy but I didn't try it.

Hello Possum - my, what big ears you have! I know you and Mario have recently met, but I think he might need a few of your slurpy kisses. They're enough to make anybody feel better.

slick
05-25-2005, 10:11 AM
Morning Debbie! I was just about to send out Possum to look for you. Deep fried french toast....sounds like something Elvis would have eaten. A little too rich for me.

Too bad I can't bring meat across the border otherwise I'd bring some bacon to LA. Would that be bringing home the bacon?? :D

So where is that Mz Gini? She should be out of the rack by now.

I was surprised at the deep fried french toast too, but I guess in the South everything is deep fried!

Hi, everyone!
Almost lunch time here so I'll pass on the breakfast!

Aw, Possum thank you for the kiss! I needed that!

I'll just fix myself a lime sherbert float for now and take 4 cat nip teas for the kids.

Maybe we could fix Mario a bed in the back room. Poor baby!

Finally sunshine here today!

Hi, slick! Glad you are back! :)

Now you promised me that you weren't going to do this..........and you just couldn't contain yourself could you?:D :D

Just for that I am going to have a really big breakfast - some of those eggs - and that bacon - yes, Slick, bring it on home............and what else is around for breakfast?

Hmmm, a BM doesn't sound good this morning...........how about a Mimosa?

Mario, sweet thing, let me hold you for a while. That's alright, we can change that diaper too. Look at Possom - she just loves it here with all of the attention she is getting. Oh, look, Mario, Possom brought you some cherries.

slick
05-25-2005, 01:16 PM
Just popping in for a minute. The sun's over the yardarm now so I'll take a double BM for starters...easy on the Tom jooze. ;)

Just heard that our weather will be sunny and hot the rest of the week.....supposed to hit the mid 70's today. BBQ weather, indeed.

Moff, thanks. Good to be back. I owe you an email and will get that done when I get home tonight. (((hugs)))

I'll just help myself to a Nekkid Beer while I'm behind the bar.

Awww.....look....Mario's smiling because Possum gave him cherries. That was so sweet of you to cheer Mario up like that, Possum. :)

Hey everyone. Come here Mario, give me a hug. I'm glad you are ok. I brought some extra cherries and diapers to help you out. I see you over there Possum, put that tongue back in your mouth.....no, wait, stop. *crash, lick, lick, slobber* I love puppy kisses, but do they have to be so slurpy?

I'll take a White Russian and a towel.

Randi
05-25-2005, 02:52 PM
I'd love to join in tomorrow morning, I promise to bring some danish bacon, if I can get past the customs with it. It would go really well with a full english breakfast - you can keep the baked beans!!

I hope Mario is sitting in the Bar, getting spoiled, he could do with some extra cuddles and cherries now. I bought some really tasty bananas for him. :)

My wine has been aired enough, so I'll say Cheers to you all and go cuddle with Fister and see if there's anything good on TV. ;)

Seems pretty quiet here this afternoon. Awwww, look at Possum and Mario all curled up together by the fire, sound asleep. Possum has worked hard today greeting all the customers. He deserves some treats. Maybe I slip on back and make some cheezie doggie bickies. He'd like those I'll bet. Rusty and Ginger loved them last year at Gini's.

I see Mario fell asleep holding his half-eaten banana. When will he ever learn. Never mind Mario. I love you to bits.

Can't figure out how baked beans got into the mix but if they are Boston Baked Beans (with molasses and such) they should most assuredly be served with New England Brown Bread.. heated. Woo Boy is that good! *sniff sniff* Bacon?? YUM!! Eating two days in a row is a good thing :D

I am up early this morning............the pups next door started in around 4 a.m. Two maltese and they sound like squeeze toys being squeezed over and over again. Kinda cuts right through your sleep.

Ms. Laurie, doncha know........baked beans are served for breakfast across the pond? Not exactly my favorite either - but oh boy, that bacon beats ours any old day.

Where is Randi????? Is she watching the new television?

Hey, Slick, that was nice of you to get for the bar. I bet the guys just love it.

Killearn Kitties
05-26-2005, 09:23 AM
I hope those pups didn't follow you here Gini. I can do without squeaky toys at any time of the day!

Yes, odd habit to serve baked beans with breakfast, mixes quite unpleasantly with the egg yolk. Add tomato sauce to the mix and ... well, it could put you off your breakfast!

Maybe Randi is trying to get the remote away from Trev? Maybe she is sick listening to the sport?

I don't think the TV will be an interference because the guys are on mostly at night, well, except David that is....but somehow I can't see him yelling into the TV. :D

It's hot again here today. Last night when I was driving home, the temperature was 76 degrees. That's hot for us. I'm just going to grab an ice water for now.

Karen, I never even thought of the tip jar!! However, I believe instead of me using it for a luxury motorhome that nobody in this world really needs, I think we should raid the tip jar and give the money to Mario and Willie. They need it much more than I do right now. :)

Hi Trev, Richard and Corinna.

Well, it's 86 degrees as I sit here at 9pm and I feel like a wet rag. The heat and me don't get along too well. However, I suppose it will get me used to the LA weather in July.

No beans for me please....the cats won't sleep with me! :D

I'm going to grab another cold beer and watch the Iron Chef. It's the best program on the food channel...although I think Richard would disagree. Shhhhh, he's in love with Nigella Lawson! ;)

Hiya Slick, Corrina, 86degF is starting to get hot. 70 wouldn't be too bad, as long as you don't have any humidity.

Yeah I can see Richard getting into Nigella's show. I best not expand on her only and best attributes.:D The Iron Chef is heaps better, It's like WWF in the kitchen.:D

Ha! Normally I would speak in Canadian language but on here I speak the language of the majority. 86 degrees F. Even the cats aren't eating that much tonight. They are both just flopped on their sides trying to air themselves out. Not an easy task for a Persian.

Oggy, I swear sometimes I think Nigella's show should be classified as Kitchen Porno. Have you heard the way she describes her Chocolate Cloud Cake??? XXX rated. :D

I was curious too, so I looked it up........here it is.

Chocolate Cloud Cake Recipe
Ingredients
8 ounces best-quality bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces, softened
6 large eggs: 2 whole, 4 separated
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cognac or Grand Marnier (optional)
Grated zest of 1 orange (optional)

WHIPPED CREAM TOPPING
1-1/2 cups heavy cream, well chilled
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Unsweetened cocoa powder, for sprinkling

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 C). Line the bottom of an 8-inch springform pan with a round of wax paper; do not butter the pan. Melt the chocolate in a bowl set over hot water. Remove from the heat and whisk in the butter until melted; set aside.

In a bowl, whisk the 2 whole eggs and the 4 egg yolks with 1/2 cup of the sugar just until blended. Whisk in the warm chocolate mixture. Whisk in the optional cognac or Grand Marnier and the optional orange zest.

In another bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the 4 egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and beat until the whites form soft mounds that hold their shape but are not quite stiff. Stir about 1/4 of the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture to lighten it; gently fold in the remaining whites. Pour the batter into the pan; smooth the top.

Bake until the top of the cake is puffed and cracked and the center is no longer wobbly, usually 35 to 40 minutes. Do not over bake.

Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack; the cake will sink as it cools, forming a crater with high sides.

At serving time, whip the cream with the confectioners' sugar and vanilla until not quite stiff. With a spatula, carefully fill the crater of the cake with the whipped cream, pushing it gently to the edges. Dust the top lightly with cocoa powder. Run the tip of a knife around the edges of the cake; carefully remove the sides of the pan and serve.

Yield: 8 to 12 servings

Hi everyone!!! Oh, I’m sorry. Didn’t realise you had all fallen asleep in front of the telly.

I see Gini has left me a recipe. I’ll just tiptoe into the kitchen and whip up this innocent looking cake. It’ll be ready for tonight and the beginning of a holiday weekend. Hurray! Party!

Mario, you are so dapper in your spats! :D Oh look, now Possum wants spats too.

Normally I'm not a chocolate cake person, but gee, this sounds too yummy to pass up, how soon before it's done Karen?

Chocolate cake and a coke for breakfast....after a few chili dogs and a load of onion rings yesterday. Hmmm....good thing this is all just cyber. ;) :D

Richard, I just adore that teardrop trailer!!! We saw one last year and were considering getting it for T & P. :D :D Is the $13,000.00 one the one with the fancy wheels - the "deluxe" model? That one looks soooo cool. The plain one is just rather....well....plain and doesn't have a lot of pizazz. :D

We will buy the r e a l l y nice motorhome and take off..........

hmmmm, let's see... we did the mules down the Grand Canyon, Jonza led us on the Feline Princess cruise - we could go camping in the mountains somewhere and tell ghost stories around a campfire (although it's still quite cold in the mountains). hmmm, lets put our thinking caps on and think about it  In the meantime I'm HUNGRY! Hurry up with that cake!! Pretty please?? ;)

Good morning everyone.

It's sprinkling out here in Lost Angeles....

If April showers bring May flowers what do May showers do for us?

Can I put on some coffee for everyone?

Done.

I make a bushel of potato salad, so everyone get ready......

I think I'll go fire up the BBQ and get it ready for the Indy 500
and this afternoon the Pepsi 600!!!

OK, here goes......If you have 500 indian maidens that have no nipples, what do you get???

The Indian Nippless 500???

I am exhausted and it is still early. Just fed the crew across the street. Two outdoor cats, one indoor cat and two large wonderful goldens. The indoor cat is an escape artist so it is a job to sneak in and out of doors to get everyone taken care of!

But I got properly slobbered by Rusty the golden so it was worth it. If you don't like dogs - then this isn't for you!

Richard, potato salad and some coffee, please.

Darn, YOU DO make good potato salad!

(I think I will ignore his joke)

Gini, ain't life grand. I just got home from feeding two sweet little orangies. Hoomans get home today.

Richard...**groan** I think I'll take some potato salad and save it for lunch.

I'm just going to grab some OJ and figure out what's for breakfast. Weather is cooler today, only going up to 80 or so, but it's overcast right now and very, very humid.

Good morning everyone, back at ya, Richard.

To answer your question about what do May showers do for us:
They keep us clean. Apparently, some of us need to be cleaned up more than others. I know Kansas has sure been washed down this month.

Are we going to watch the same race? My tv keeps showing ads for the Coca Cola 600. Has Pepsi decided to try and keep up by having a race of their own?

By the way, have you noticed Pepsi now has Pepsi with lime? ;)

Do you have any BBQ ribs on that grill? :)
