Tabitha Update and new pics...

Well, we have been battling with Tabitha's eyes for months now ... different antibiotics and ointments. Her little eyes are ulcerated from the chronic Herpes virus she is carrying. She has really looked terrible in the eyes for a long time now .... more 3rd eyelid showing than anything else!:( This is why I haven't posted pics of her, because I didn't want to upset everyone who loves her eyes so much.

I know these pics probably don't look great to everyone here, but trust me ... they are VERY MUCH improved over how she has been the past month or so.

Her little eyes have always had such expression ... and such an adorable shape to them, it has really hurt me to know that they are so uncomfortable for her. Right now she is having a good spurt .... just praying that she can eventually fight it off, to where it doesn't effect her so badly.

Glad her eyes are getting better. That herpes eye thing SUCKS!! Sami and Pee Pee have it occasionally too...its so horrible!

Thanks Kelly ... I've never had one struggle with it as much as Tabitha! I guess she just got off to such a touch and go start, she's having a tough time fighting it off. My vet even re-checked her for Felv/FIV .... scared me to death ... but they were both still NEGATIVE!!!;)

Aww, it's good to see that little sweetheart. I'm glad she is having a good spurt with her eyes right now. Does the vet think she will outgrow it or will she always have problems?

She wasn't really sure, but hoped that in time, she would develop a good enough immunity to it. I just hope she does before it damages her eyesight!

Oh Tabitha, sweetheart, I am so sorry to hear that you are still battling that nasty eye virus.

Poor baby - hope she gets over the eys virus completely! But in thr meantime, she still looks like pretty little Tabitha!! She still has lots of kitten to her, too

Brodie says to tell you that he knows what you're going through, kind of. He also has problems with the herpes virus, only his affects his little black nose. It sure is nasty! Does your meowmie ever give you L-Lysine? We've read that it's good for cold sores & herpes. :) Brodie likes his crushed up in a dab of yogurt. ;)

Look at how BEAUTIFUL she is! Tabitha you just continue to get cuter and cuter. You are a small little petite thing aren't you? Momma's forever kitten just like my Abigail.
I hope she does finally develop some resistance and her eyes clear up. I know we have a cat at the shelter that had the same thing and it took close to a year of daily eye drops but it finally cleared up with just a small amount of scarring on his eye. I pray that Tabitha's will clear up sooner than that! Just letting you know that there is hope that one day it will go away. :) Does she still suck earlobes?:D

My vet gave us some Immune System tabs ... but they are like horsepills even cut into halves! I have heard of the L-Lysine ... though my vet hasn't mentioned it, I think I will look in to getting some. If it comes in a tasty paste, then Tabitha will be all over it ... that girl will eat anything!:rolleyes: :D

Unfortunately, she does already have ulcers on her little eyes, so most likely a bit of sight damage as well. I just pray it gets under control before she loses too much.
