For those of you who haven't been checking General, I've just adopted a year-old female cat named Zerlina, who is getting along beautifully with the incumbent cat, Don Juan.

I've noticed the past few days that Don Juan has been wrestling with Zerlina. He usually initiates these bouts, and they generally end with Zerlina making her escape to some spot where she can fit easily (and Don Juan can't  ), where she bats him on the head. These wrestling matches seem to be in good fun, no blood or major fur loss on either part. But they do look pretty rough. Should I be concerned?

As long as Zerlina doesn't seem upset or stressed, and isn't coming out with injuries, I wouldn't worry. My too wrestle all the time, and when it was the new kitten, I used to worry about Mozart being rough, but now it seems like it's Mozart who gets chewed on the most. ;)

Generally, cats are pretty good at drawing the line themselves. Just keep an eye on them, and make sure Zerlina isn't getting upset, injured, or bullied, and they should be fine.

Thank you. Don Juan usually starts these matches. Zerlina is 8 pounds (3.64 kg, if I remember the conversion right) to Don Juan's 14 pounds (6.36 kg), but she has enough CATITUDE to give back as good as she gets and then some! :D

And, last night they were curled up with me on the loveseat, licking each other. :) :) :) Life is good.
