hi folks,
We are moving in a few weeks and our cat Pingwee will undergo many changes including having to learn how to use the litterbox. I was thinking that we should get her a friend (another cat) to keep her company after the dust settles from the move. We'll be moving from a suburban place to totally urban place where she will be cooped up more in the apt, and I thought that after she got used to the place, maybe she'd like cat company. She's an only child right now. Do you folks think that cats do just fine alone, or appreciate cat company?

How old is Pingwee? I think most cats enjoy company. Cats are social creatures and some really get lonely when they are by themselves. And with a big change like moving to an urban centre where she was used to (I'm assuming as she doesn't know how to use a litterbox) going outside I think once she gets settle she will miss her outdoor buddies and maybe a playmate is a good idea.

I agree that most cats would enjoy the company of another cat. There some, however, that need to be only cats. I just recently had to give my Cirrus back to his rescue group so they can find him another home because he would do better as an only cat. My current 3 cats are indoor only and really enjoy each others company.:)

Hi.
I'd agree that your lone cat would probably like some company. Please consider rescuing a needy kat/kitten from a shelter if you do decide to get a new furbaby. There are sooooooooo many that have been through so much sadness & really deserve & would love a break.
My wish for you is good decisions.
Please tell Pingwee (very cute name!!:D :D ) that we say "Hi Pingwee!!"
