My friend Alex's parents live in Michigan, and their neighbors have this cat named Jeannie. Now, whenever Alex goes home to visit, this cat comes looking for him specifically to hiss at him!!! Once, she actually broke into their house--Alex was awakened by his father saying, "Alex, we have a problem; Jeannie's in the house!" Here's some pictures he sent me of Jeannie under a tarp on the porch:

That cat is possessed.

As an added bonus, here's his cat Marvin:

Just to show the (sometimes) vicious feline nature....Marvin is a very sweet cat for the most part, and Jeannie is well-loved by her people.

Welcome to Pet Talk!

Maybe it's your friend that has some kind of problem . . . why else would these two cats that you say are lovable & sweet, turn on your friend? They both look scared to me!

Maybe your friend is part werewolf??? LOL . . .

I don't know if maybe your friend reminds this little beauty of someone that has hurt him before or what but that baby is just super scared.

Wow, that is one angry cat. It makes you wonder why she has it in for your friend Alex.

I don't know if they sense something in people or what, but my RB Captain would always bite one of our friends whenever he came over to the house. Every one else he was fine with, except for this one guy. But the guy, even though he knew Captain did not like him, for some reason or another, always tried to pet him because he figured he could gain his trust, but Captain would always go to bite him.
It boggled our minds as to why he was like this.

Do you think it could have to do with the persons scent?

I think that some cats indeed just don't take to certain people. My girl Indy is fine with Alex--always comes and rubs all over him when he comes over.

My mom has the same problem with the neighbors' cat Princess Leia. When they're out of town, she feeds the cat, and this cat has it out for her. My mom's never been anything but kind to Princess, and Princess hates her. She tries to bit her when she's feeding her, and one time she managed to sink her teeth deep into my mom's ankle. It ended up getting infected, and the doctor put Mom on antibiotics. Unfortunately, she found out she was allergic to penicillin, and got really sick. The cat loves the mom of the family, is great with the kids, and is more-or-less indifferent to the dad. Who knows? All we can do is be as kind as we can to the furry ones, whether they hiss at us or not.
